1977 Chevy k10 "N Debt" build.....Dash install completed

Why would you want to get rid of the best looking front end on '73-'87 GM trucks?

I'm torn I love the squareness of my front end, but I'm not a fan of the single round headlights. I do like the slight downward angle of the newer 2nd Gen hoods, for the simple fact that I'm short and it is a little easier to judge where I am. Hell I might only have to sit on three phone books with that front clip :haha::haha::haha:

I don't believe you can use the old fenders with the newer radiator support and grille.

Still out of town, but as always I'm coming home with more than I left with :doah::whistle:

The pictures don't give the amount of tread left justice........95%...:thumb:

Some progress.......

Well I wish the amount of work that has been done was as impressive as the stack of receipts I have collected :doah:I managed to break down the 14 bolt and got rid of the drums. Cleaned up the hubs, coated them with POR-15 and chassis black, replaced bearings, races, new wheel studs and finally put it all back together.

Also got the 14 bolt shaved

Good to see some progress on this rig. You need to get the lift on and get those axles in! I want to see what it looks like with the H1 wheels. What do yo want for your box if you do sell it? I know of a good place to put it :D.

I have to do this in steps since its my dd. I thought the 14 by was going to be done this weekend but I neglected to remember that I have to move the perches. I got one off before the grinder went kaput, so hopefully I will be done with everything next weekend. After that I install the 14 and then rebuild the 60 and install. I had to buy new tires due to a case of nails in the street so I will buy a temp set of 8 lug steelies to use til both axles are installed then I can do the lift then ill do the h1 wheels......it looks good on paper hopefully the plan stays true

I stopped by Ballistic Fab to pic up some new spring perches today, but of course I came back with more than I planned on:doah::whistle:

14 Bolt progress

Perches moved and new shock mounts. Got the axle cleaned and painted. Installed the new diff cover and pinion guard. If the weather cooperates the rest will be assembled this week and installed the weekend after:waytogo:

And yes that is my tool box in the upper left and corner, and yes I keep it in the living room next to the air compressor and welder:D God I love being single:waytogo::waytogo:

Well it only took all day, but finally I feel like I accomplished something.

Since I had to put my lift on hold temporarily I found a new project :doah: I picked up these seats off of craigslist. Didn't realize that they were stow and go style seats untill I got home. After staring at them for two days the solution hit me. I will be using the foot plates from the original bench seat, so they will bolt to the original holes in the floor board. All I have to do is weld the brackets solid so they aren't able to slide (since the new seats slide and recline.

I finally got the truck lifted 4". ORD shackle flip in the rear with 56" springs and the front is sitting on 4" tuff country hds. I got the Bilstein 5125's on the back but ran out of motivation to do the front shock towers. And now I'm sitting in a hotel room in Sioux City for a while so not sure when the Dana 60 will get swapped in

Progress

After a two day fight with the dana 60 it's finally ready to go in!! I thought I had it planned out so well, and still made three trips to the auto parts store. Oh well next week just got to swap the axle and steering box for the crossover. Those Yukon locking hubs sure are a pain to install but they sure are built well.

Looks good. It's a lot harder to work on a dd and keep it roadworthy while trying to get the good parts in when time allows. But the good thing about it is it pushes you to Have to do it and not Let it sit if you don't feel like finishing something. Even slow you are at least getting stuff in there. Better than letting it sit on jack stands for years and not getting to drive it like some of us.

Thanks, you are very right about how hard it is to do this on daily drivers. It's got to be planned out if I want to be able to drive it home. It's nice to see the pile of parts in my living room getting smaller, not to mention that dana 60 housing that was in here for a year:haha:

Pics will be up next weekend

Unfortunately the dana 60 install has been delayed a week due to being sold the front dana 60 u bolt and spring plate kit. Ultimately it was my fault for not realizing it but I was doing it when I was on the clock, returned parts to said vendor and ordered the right stuff from ORD like I should have from the beginning. Oh well next week it goes in.
