1977 K5 "Sparty On"

Got the crossover steering all tore off last night, now I gotta tear all the lines off the steering box and get the box off as well. Also need to remove the power steering pump to mod the bracket and figure out how I wanna run the high pressure line....

I also put Loctite on the studs a couple years ago when I installed the steering arm.....never do that again!:angry1:

Also removed the raised steering block off the drivers side....

Got all the lines pulled off and the pump out last night, now just need to remove the steering box and full steam ahead on full hydro and new brake lines.....

Say bye bye to traditional steering and hello full hydro!!!

Talk about a pain trying to remove the steering box by yourself.....

Toughest frame I've ever seen, not one crack in it, Zeldo says its due to all the mud keeping it together!!

Bracket mocked up...

Orbital installed w/ steering coupler...

So much more area to work w/ now....well until the lines get plumbed...

Santa was good to me this year....well kinda! Got new mufflers & a bag that was suppose to have a proportioning valve in it! Had to call summit & explain to them that santa didn't open up the box, he just wrapped it w/o opening it. But got
New chambered 3" mufflers & new disc to disc prop valve. Also got other odds & ends tools that I've been wanting/needing to build other stuff.

Started to get the old brake lines off & installed the line lock bracket. Ran into a issue w/ the adapter fittings he the wrong size for the back brakes. So decided to work on the fronts. Ran into a issue trying to get the old line off the T fitting. Didn't realize the PO had ran it w/o a prop valve & just ran a single adjustable one to the rear. So I'm just gonna keep it that way & move the prop valve to the engine bay. The drivers side line came off easy but the feed line & passenger side didn't. But after the little issue I was able to plum the front line off the master cylinder though. Kinda stupid that the new master cylinders have the same side thread & the just neck down the fitting to accept the actual line size.

Got the correct fittings yesterday & this morning before work I got them put on the rear line lock. Got it mounted w/ the ground run & also adapter screwed into the master cylinder. Just need to run a brake line to in now then plum the lines back into each other.

I ended up w/ a new passenger door.

Also got a final location on where the battery box is gonna go, decided to put it there then instead of putting the battery kill switch on the box as well I decided to run it on the roll cage where the fire extinguisher is now. Then moving that right next to the shifter.

Had to clean the mud up where the battery box is gonna go......I need a professional mud cleaning crew!

Also forgot how much a pain it is to try & flare lines while there on the rig! Had to cut the old frozen T fitting that was stuck on the passenger side line. Then reflare it & install new T fitting, first attempt didn't go so well. Didn't get it torqued to 850ft lbs & the line slipped in the clamp. Got it on the second time though!!!

Well a little time this afternoon to work on the front brake lines again.
I wrapped the line back & around the steering shaft & out of the way....

I'm gonna run the back brake line down the drivers side. Had to move the adjustable proportioning valve. Got it off & it's not in to good of shape...

Here's where it's going when I get a new one...

Had to venture out to get a piece of aluminum channel @ my parents house for the battery box. The snow was up to my knees and when I got out there it was stuck in the snow bank.

Got the new adjustable prop valve today, just need to get it installed now. I'm gonna run the brake line down the drivers side instead of plumbing it across then down.....

The first parts are starting to roll in for super secret operation.....Code Name "Mud Domination"

More to come before I let the cat out of the bag......

Got the new adjustable prop valve in place, now gotta clean up the unused wire mess on the firewall by the master cylinder to run the brake line down through there. Also to make room for another part of the MUD DOMINATOR adittion...

Got the line going back to the rear brakes run the other night, just need to get an adapter fitting to finish it up.

Got another piece of the puzzle to operation mud dominator done today. Now to buy some more toggles......
