1977 Silverado Crew Cab.

use some "rubbing compound" on that paint to get the dead paint off, use a non orbital buffer and keep it moving....you'll love the results, then use some Nu finish on it.:waytogo:

Killer. Is it getting an altitude change?

Just 2". Plus the d60 is like 3/4" taller? So add that in too.

'Bout time poser:wink1:

:D

Keep the 396!

Martin

The 396 won't be leaving any time soon. I would like to tbi it and see if I can have that get me by until I swap in a vortec motor. I just have a feeling I it will be a bitch to get the tbi running right. And quadrajets are cool, but doesn't always make for the best mpg and drivability.

Does the AC work?

Martin

Nope. Compressor is pretty rough turning. I'll get a new one and charge it up and see what it does.

Watching to see how this goes.

Hopefully it goes nicely!

Keep the '77 only yellow stripe down the trim :pimp:

Lookin' good!

Thanks! Yea I have always liked the 77 trim! It will be staying no matter what!

Hope you enjoy!
yeah buddy!:waytogo:

I like the 8.1 upgrade idea!

What is that paint code(s) Does it still have the glovebox sticker? Snap a pic if it does!

I'm not sure on the codes. It does have the glove box sticker. I'll snap a pic as soon as I remember!

That's what I'm thinking. Obviously there isn't much help to he done for the roof and hood, but maybe the rest can be at least brightened up a little.

here ya go:

So cool!

This is what I'm trying to figure out guys how do you post pics like he did on the first page of this thread, where you don't have to click a link or anything, the pic is just there.

You upload the pics to photobucket and then copy and paste the IMG link from photobucket directly into the message.

Too much time/money/trouble at that point. Im thinking of making sure it has a TBI-able cam in it and just try a stock 454 tbi setup. Would be cheap and easy enough to try. If it doesn't run so good, bag the whole thing and swap a 5.3/6.0/8.1 in it and be done.

These are the colors i want to paint it. The Chief's!

My bad! Lol no but really, in your truck, I would do an all aluminum 5.3 like the one in my '12 or a regular old 6.0. I only think the big block is cool for this thing since I won't care about weight.

The weight difference between a big block and a small block is no different than having a full grown adult male riding shotgun . . . . . . . . .

Martin

You're probably right, but people taht wanna go fast do all they can to shed weight right? The difference in weight between an 8.1 and an all aluminum 5.3 has got to be pretty significant.

From my quick research it looks like there is a little over 300lb difference in 8.1l and an all aluminum ls motor. That's a decent bit. But your right, about the same as an average adult male. Or two Adams! Lol
