Oh for sure! Eyes are terrible at spotting the highs and lows! I got myself some super thin white cloth gloves that work perfect for feeling the filler.

Thanks! I'm using southern polyurethane epoxy primer, rage gold and duraglas filler, feather fill polyester primer surfacer, Wanda base paint, and southern polyurethane universal clear. I'll have between $1500 and $2000 into when it's all said and done.

I sprayed part of the blue on mine this morning. It's all orange peely and crappy, but it's good enough for me. Better than rattle can, and I'm just going to scratch it all up anyway. lol.
 
Ok so didn't get the re prime done. But I got everything up to that point done so I can do it tomorrow after work.

For the most part is really thin but a lot of it. The area at the front of the bed on the passenger side for example is MAYBE an 1/8" thick in some spots. There could be spots within some areas that reached a 1/4" at max but that's certainly the exception. I think it's all within reason of the product's designs and what my overall goal is for the truck.
 
Ok second round of epoxy is in the bag! Pretty much a repeat of last time. Mostly awesome with a couple runs. No big. Everything that's not perfect now will be perfected with the feather fill and glazing putty. Body work seems to look pretty good which is nice. The filler really seems to soak up the primer!



















 
That looks awesome so far man. Some day I'll be able to do that with my Suburban. For now it'll just be rattle canned. Do you know if the rage gold comes in anything besides a gallon? I haven't had luck finding it any other way. Any idea of the shelf life? If I'm gonna have to buy that much i don't want it going bad too fast. Looking forward to your progress.
 
I think it was available in quarts? And I think the shelf life was 3 years? I'll look at the can next time I'm down there.
 
Doesn't look to impressive as just a paint splotch but it's going to look pretty nice. It's the original #71 red metallic. Kinda like a mix of red and burgundy. I also picked up a quart of white for the two tone stripe. Getting excited now! Unless something awful happens, I should have paint and clear on it next weekend!

 
Think a quart of white is enough? I used bout 2 quarts when I did big orange. Atleast I think I did :haha:

Ran 3 coats on it.


That red should set it off :thumb:
