Nice job!
Those are sweet little clamps you got there
When I get around to doing some of my rust repair I will have to get a few. They’re a must for the job. Makes it much easier.
That's how we did mine. Worked good.Shifter mounted and functional. Won’t be able to use the factory 208 shifter bezel cause the NV4500 boot and 208 bezel is so big.

Trimmed the 208 bezel tabs.

Going to use the factory 203 bezel and get a new boot.

Should look similar to @Larry Suburban.

That's a big hurdle!
I really like how well por15 does on pitted rusty areas. It doesn’t seem to bond well to clean slick or painted surfaces but on anything that has some texture I’ve yet to find anything better. I have a similar problem with my dash I need to get my radio and see if I need to weld in some metal to hold it. The truck looks so good I’m a big fan of the faded paint on top of the fenders it gives it so much character. Finally got to work on this again a little while I’m home on my ronacation. Finished the welding up and seam sealed my welds. Got the stubborn bolts out of the rear seat bolt down. Cleaned up the scaly spots and applied some SEM rust converter. Next up scuff everything and prime and paint. Or should I use POR15 on the rusty/scaly area? Then I have some killmat to apply.

Here’s my solution for the idiot who hacked my dash. It’s not super pretty, but you won’t see it and it works.

And I actually had it outside blowing all the dust and stuff out so I took it around the block.

Drove it around the block with a manual transmission and no seat!?
That would have been amusing to see!
