Fellers,

Long time no post. Would someone be willing to tell me how to change the name of this thread as well as move it to the garage? I have some updates to post and a I would like to put it in the proper forum.

Bob
The title is great actually, but there is a tab "Thread tools" , I think on the first page.
If this is going to be a build thread, might suggest "The Driveway"

Then just conjure a mod and inquire for help moving, like so @mrk5

I managed to change the name after I asked, and I will reach out to a moderator when I get to the house. I thought I had asked in that post for help moving, thanks for pointing it out that I hadnt.

Didn't mean to come across as telling you what to do.

As for motor choices, an LS swap in may be more work, but better results I think.
TBI conversions are really only with it if you have a good motor you want to keep, and just lose the carb.

This may help you as well. Currently doing my second build to TBI, and had some tank issues to resolve

Thread moved to the Driveway Build Thread section.

I didn't take it that way sir. I'm considering the TBI because of the fuel injection and the lack of power, I have a propensity for breaking parts. I dream of a 6.0 LS motor but realistically a run of the mill motor is enough.

That's an attitude I can respect, a TBI 350 will still get a lot accomplished without breaking the bank doing it.

Edit for vote rationale= TBI parts are also very very common and usually cheap to acquire about anywhere you want to go. My last junkyard harness, intake, and distributor ran me around $150 and an afternoon of wiring. I used an inline fuel pump last time but in-tank factory stuff can also be found cheap in yards. Just my $.02

Voted TBI because for me it's easier to understand and repair. It makes enough power for the wheeling I've done.

If you really want big power, then I would go with a 5.3L/6.0L with some mods.

So I voted LS if power is not that important a 4.8 LS can be had for CHEAP.

I have seen them as low as 300 bucks on Craigslist. Even wrecking yards when they have them let em go for cheap.

Modern injection, better milage, plenty of power. Especially when compared to a stock or even a modded tbi motor.

Oh and they weigh less

I vote LS also because TBI while rock solid is hard to troubleshoot if something does go bad. The ECU doesn't provide enough feedback to be useful, LS engines know just about everything about themselves. and a 4.8 is a very good engine.

I like the idea of a 4.8, I do. I'm actually a bit apprehensive wiring the thing up. It also sounds like I backtracking by going such a small displacement but it makes more power than a TBI 5.7. Really what I should do is run my 350 till it blows and then swap out.

Nothing yet to show in pictures. I will post some when my accumulation of parts starts going on.
