1980 gmc.. build thread.. im back.. post 438. :/

anyone got the napa part# for rear brake line from the caliper to hardline. and the banjo bolt part number?? thanks in advance..

got all the brake lines sorted out, except for master cylinder.. i thought the one from the 74 vette would work since its 4 wheel disc brakes. but the lines are different.. so im hopin someone can give me a idea of which master cylinder would work on this truck with rear disc. or should i get the adaptor to the master cylinder?? let me know pls.. thanks:bow:

I'm pretty sure one from a 80 1 ton truck will work. i thought the same thing about the vette MC as well.

I'd like to convert my '86 front end to the older look as well. It just looks classy.

What was it?
the wire for the battery cable, theres postive- to the starter, negative- to the motor and the negative ground. the smaller wire- to the body for ground. i cutted the body ground, i gotta be more careful for next time:doah:

Gotcha...well glad you got it sorted out :thumb:

Ever notice how electrical problems more often than not boil down to a bad ground? I always mis-diagnose at first and then BAM! it was a bad ground.

With me it's always loose, intermittent connections. Trying to track it down always involves wiggling wires until something happens. :doah:

well got everything working on the truck. even brake works good so far.. BUT i cant steer to test the brakes more! thats cause i bought the steering arm from a member here, shipped out it was supposed to be here, last friday, but it still havent arrived!:( so i been doin bunch of stuff, checking oil, new plugs, bleed the brake sys very good. try to align the front the best i can, checking tc oil, axle oil. just the usual stuff, wires, makin sure nothing is missing. now i gotta make the rear n front bumper out of c channel steel and fab it up with my dad at his garage. i gotta drill one hole in the shackle so i can put the other 2 bolt in for the tow hitch, anyone know how much the original J tow hitch point worth? on ebay? its currently on my truck i want to take it off. thanks. so what u all think so far???
