1980 K5 Blazer

What’s up with the K/20 axles - ya’ gotta share these details and not just tease with photos.
Is that an Eaton HO72 out back ?
I had an opportunity to buy a 1980 blazer on 3/4 ton suspension and 454 when I was 19? Needless to say I couldn’t come up with the cash. Dang it. It was special ordered from the factory that way. Back when you could change major mods through the factory.

Yes, it's a Danna 44 with 4.10 gears in the front, a Eaton HO72 in the rear, disc brakes all around. It's has a SM465 trans with a NP205 T-case. It's 8 lug all around, I have done a DYI 4x shackle flip, steeling box frame upgrade, Bilstein shocks 5100 series.

That's the insurance I have never told them I would go off road, they never asked either.
What insurance doesn’t know won’t hurt them……

Until something happens off road…..they may not cover your loss or pay for any damage you cause to someone else’s vehicle.

Here in PA you can’t use a truck with antique plates for any kind of work (hauling firewood, trailers etc) my neighbor was towing his camper with his 69 F250 and got into a fender bender….haggarty refused to cover any of it because he was using it for something other than going to car shows

Just something to consider

Well, a lot has happened since the license plate.
I got all new seals on the rear window, working on the power problem with the window going up & down.
I have a power contactor kit from K5 Squared coming along with an OEM cable.
I got the rubber seals for the shell to cab & bed.
I put 1.5"-wheel spacers on the back.
Change the fluid in the transmission & T-case.
I think the biggest thing is a new exhaust system went with 2.5" pipe to a Flowmaster 40 series with 3" out the passenger side behind the tire.

Look’n good !

Glad to see that they stuck with the rear 4-1/2” diameter driveshaft tube when they put the K/20 running gear in your K/5 - those are pretty cool.
I like the single outlet exhaust - nice understated touch.

I'd be interested to see how the rear window setup works. Fought with mine for a bit. Still sucks.

A lot has been going on since my last update.
Body work welding, Bondo & painting.
Welded up some 48 holes all around on the outside of Molly where the chrome trim was at.
Had some paint match up and boy Advance Auto Parts did an awesome job at that.
