Hippies and I went to the junk yard today and grabbed a few things for the trucks, We got two sets of tail lights one for his K20 and one for my M1008, we went back to his house and started the red truck up and it deff needs new exhaust, the mufflers are like 8 inches long and cherry bomb type. Its loud as heck and yeah it suxs with the exhaust, over all its not a bad truck just needs a tune up and new mufflers.
Yup. Power steering box was dry, got that filled up.
It definitely seemed to run better after cleaning out some of the 3 yr old gas and crap out of it. Gonna work on the tune up next weekend

Today got a trans cooler mounted up. The center of the core support had been cutout before, so I welded in a piece to connect it, figured at the same time I'd figure out the mounting for the cooler. It's one that has the fan with a thermostat switch built in, so ill get around to getting tht plumbed up and finished up one day.
Also got the grill and headlight bezels painted and mounted back up.
Color is metallic charcoal. I've always been a fan and I'm a bit tired of all the black.
Got the oil change stuff and new plugs and wires ready to roll. Depending on work ill get those knocked out this week.
You should have left the center bar gray on the grille.

ok, small update.
so currently planning a pismo trip with some friends (including Matt)either late april, early may.
originally i was planning on taking the 95 and just putting around. wife says she wants to go break something on the red truck. so that means i need to get cracking on getting some stuff done. (all things i've been meaning to do, just havent made the $$ a priority for it yet)
things i can do with what i have now
1. Oil change, including diffs
2. new plugs wires, valve cover gaskets
things that cost money
1. pay for "smog" and get it registered in my name
2. buy the rebuild parts for the 10b and the lockright i have, so i can get the axle regeared to 4.88 so it matches the rear
3. finish the bolt on sliders i'm currently working on
4. add some mufflers to replace/in addition to the glasspacks that are on it.
5. fix the hemorage coming from the steering box
6. add a radio of some sort to this rig
after that its just make sure it drives without killing a bus load of nuns and make sure it'll make the trek there and back.
