My new ord lines on my rear disk setup.
Should I go over the leaf pack and down which makes a cleaner setup at the caliper, or u der the springs and come and loop up to the caliper,

I like going under the leafs but don't like how it flips around bcuz the calipers have those little banjo bolt shields cast in??? What do I doooo
in reference to this problem, i decided i'd rather just have it come under that way the lines are a part of the axle...

came to that decision based on the fact that i have 85 springs in my leaf pack, and i'm pretty sure i'll end up pulling the springs to remove a leaf or two. and i'm not gonna wanna do that if i have to rebleed the brakes every time.

over the last week, i've gotten my 2x6" rect tubing chopped & capped. so i have a (roughly) 45 degree angle on one end, that will go by the front tire and just a capped full 6" wide end that will go by the back, original plan was to have the rect tube come from under truck, than a bent half of tube come off of that as a rub rail (similar to design seen on the full size blazer build on xtreme 4x4...
anywhoo, after looking and mocking, the 2x6 alone comes off a hefty amount from the truck, about an inch inside of where the outside track width of the tires sit. so i'll just leave it as that. should be enough to be a step and still be sturdy.
when i cut the bottom of the sheetmetal, i left the front and rear (i'm gonna guess they're body stiffeners...?), but i left those cut so its the perfect backstop/locating piece for the slider, i'm also going to cut 2 more pieces of the tubing i have, and weld those to the frame as well as welding the slider to the body. should be much in the sturdy department. plan is to eventually tie the cage to the sliders/frame and have the bitch on lockdown.

anyway, for this weekend the plans are...

1. wire relays for electric fans
2. figure out which fuel line at the back is the feed line to the pump and connect my fuel cell hose
3. start and time truck with new dizzy???
4. add frame to slider pieces and get the the sliders mounted up (DONE for the weekend)
5. ???
6. Profit!

Got the driver side down. Which is all I'm doing til I can drive/repack the blazer to get to other side.
Got two tubes welded to frame and tacked to slider. Got the slider welded filly to the body on outside. Decided that a glove and t shirt are not enough protection for welding. Arm Is on fire. So I'll get the back side after I can borrow the leathers from work.

But with the tacks and front welds it's strong enough to support me bouncing around. Good stuff.

You cut your rockers out right? i am thinking of doing the same thing on my truck.

Got the fuel cell plumbing complete. Discovered I screwed up when putting in the dizzy so I'm gonna work on that and hopefully start it this week. Did ordersome new longer plug wires so I can hopefully get the wires run to where they don't rest on the headers.

So I started this weekend on remaking the seat mounting setup. Now it shall be tied into the cage and just a little more thought out.

Over last weekend my buddy came over with a timing light. Got it running in pretty good. Still a lil bit of timing left to be done since the fans still aren't hooked up. Sounds really good tho.
Also took my old d shaft in to get lengthened. Talking to the shop and he had a good one ton core instead of rebuilding mine with the conversion joint. So I got a really nice one ton shaft with brand new slip yoke and joints for less than just lengthening my old one. Really nice shop gonna use him again after my SYE.

Also ordered up a few custom seat mounting tabs from Kurt. Hoping to weld them in over turkey day weekend. The way I planned it I'll have my seat mount and my wife will have another position that is closer and higher so she will be in a good position for driving as well.

After I get it running and tuned. Gotta bleed the breaks than I'm taking it to the exhaust shop. Hoping to go from chincy duals to a nice new 2-1 system that is tucked up fairly high. We will see if I can get that done by Xmas.

I'll update when anything develops

Got tired of some Mickey mouse plumbing I have, so I ordered up a -8 An kit to go from the fuel cell to a new fuel filter I'll mount on the frame. Than plumb into the hard line. Also got a SS radiator hose that I'll get installed since the current one is about 4" too short and is cobbled together. Also heard from Kert that the seat tabs should ship Wednesday or Thursday. Interested to see how that works out with the seats.

Oh and drove Friday after thanksgiving to get this

New to me soft top for $250. Everything was included. I do need to have some seams from the window zipper rest itched but shouldn't be too bad.

Last update is we got the electric fans wired up, just need the relay which should be in tomoro. Very nice!

As of tonight. Fans are running great. Work off a switch which is tied to the ignition. So they'll only come on with a switch and the key.

Truck fired up after just a few cranks. Idled like a kitty. Happy to make some progress.

nice rig, cool cage, very badass...we need to hit some trails someday, just took my rig out last weekend planning on more trips soon.
