Umm is your engine in and running? Wiring? Fuel system? Do you have an interior? Paint and other body work?

Yep! Biggest mistake to make is not doing anything you can, whenever you can. You got nuts and bolts to clean up for installation? Plastic pieces to clean/paint? You have hours worth of stuff to do right this minute.

You guys are great, well I do have stuff to do but I want to do it in stages and not flop all over the place. I know it's funny I say that but I end up doing it anyway.

Whatever you say, but I'm telling you, you have hours of piddly bull $hit cleaning and pre assembly to be doing that you can work on for an hour at a time here and there.
I know and I agree with you. I just don't want to put stuff on just to take it back off. Depending on a few things.

At least you have a definite plan to stick to now. That's a step in the right direction at least. That always helps me stay on track with stuff like that. Sometimes I'll make a list of individual things that need to be accomplished and post it somewhere so I can cross off the stuff I've already done and see my progress. That helps keep me motivated.

I've done that in the past. Then I get depressed because I'm not getting it done fast enough. I know put the list where I gave to dig for it to cross stuff off.
I don't have a list so to speak, it's all been in my head for the passed 10 years. Nothing has changed sense I first dreamed of this, just added all the little things in.
It's funny when the ORD kit came out I asked a few questions about it and everybody thought I was nuts, yet Stephen proved to me he could tow a 30 foot camper with it. It's kind of like the shackle flip theory...

It's always good to have the pros in your corner. Gives you confidence when you're trying to get a big job done.
Good luck on the 230 days. You have ton of work ahead of you. You need to be working on some part of it everyday if you want it to be running for bb2014. It's the little thing you think are no big deal that will eat you alive on this build. I will tell you this will be a full time job for you if you want to have it just up and driving by then. Coming from some one that has turned every nut bolt and screw on one of these builds. The best way to build one is test fit first then take it back apart to paint

Thanks Teck, Hard to believe it but I know what you mean. It is the little things that keep you busy.
I think with my tax return coming I'm going to try and get this thing painted. By the time it comes it should be a rolling chassis or I'll keep the frame in the garage and send the body off.

What do you guys think about adding hydro assist? It will be driven on the street a lot and offroad. I will have a 33-34 inch tall tire on this, would it be overkill or a must? I believe it might hide some bump steer but I don't think I will have any as is.
Won't do squat for bump steer. Will stop any chance of death wobble. I don't run it. Have it, just not on the truck yet. I did brake the ears off of a box once though. Would not have happened with hydro assist.

Hey Wade, how did you attach those shackles to the front of your frame? I have been brainstorming for a few days on how to add some, as of right now I have the factory tow hooks.

I think I would add it later if you decide you want it. I eould be shocked if you end up with death wobble with that 4link kit.
Hydro assist is another bunch of fail points if you don't need it IMO.
Yup I'm thinking I don't need it especially with size tires I want. I was thinking about it for reasons to speed up the steering instead of yanking on the wheel.
It does not speed up steering. Adds turning strength and takes presure off of the box and frame. Remove leaf flex due to the box bushing the axle. No leafs, running 35s. No need.
