Well, did they get it out? Can they confirm its toast? Just because a bearing came out with it doesn't mean it took the cam out.
I will have it tomorrow and will check it out, hoping it's good and I can use it again with my new valve springs.
Don't do a lq9 cam. Go up to something more aggressive. My lq9 is disappointing. (Disclaimer: this is in a stock Silverado SS with awd) but I think if your doing a cam swap it'd be worth it to get his baby cam and tune together
I already have a aftermarket cam, meant going with a lq9 short block to get the flat top pistons and more compression.

I might have missed this but what heads do you have again? 799s or 243?

To clear up the LQ9 cam. Its the same cam the LQ4s use. Early LQ4s are a different, smaller cam. With that said, the LQ9/LQ4 cam is AMAZING in a 5.3.
Well if you're keeping the block, you might as well make a coffee table out of it 
Block is still good just needs new cam bearings but the thought has cross me already.
Well this sucks. I just wrapped up my swap. Got about 600 miles on it. I am getting a knock sensor code popping up but that is it. I had mine tuned by 208 and he has checked my logs a few times. Interested to hear what happened.
What code is it? I can check with service manuals.

Damn 3800 is a nice jab to the pocket book. You can build a stroker for that price. 1900 isnt bad if its truly done right.

So, that could be 1 sensor out of range. Still working but barely within the limits. Could be a bad jumper harness. Could be something up with the harness, pin crimp...... Is it the same code every time?

No I meant that your motor going sucks. I haven't had a chance to pull my code yet. Not too worried about it. Just bummed for you.
