A little clearity on the AN vs JIC debate. AN and all JIC fittings are 37°. SAE fittings are the only ones that are 45°. That said, I work with hydraulic systems daily with JIC fittings with working pressures of 3000-5000 psi. I think they would be plenty fine for a transmission cooler.

I has hose clamps.

I think he will survive.

BTW, the Derale coolers with the fans on them kick ass.

I ordered the 15900, it's also a -8an plate style but a little bigger and includes the fan switch. I haven't used it yet however I read several positive reviews so I went with it.
Ended up with this, didn't want a huge cooler but I have the room so why not and it will be at my house friday.

Posting this here to, will a 87k5 bumper, brackets and hitch bolt right up to my 82c10 frame?

You should just need all the brackets for that style bumper and it will work. 2 center frame brackets and left and right outside braces.

I can look in the parts book tonight to see if it shows any difference in brackets for a truck.

I don't have a pickup handy to look at but I just fabbed some new brackets for the rear of my blazer and I think the frame horns are different from the pick up frame horns. Shouldn't be too hard to make it work though.

I'm pretty sure they offered that bumper from the factory on pickups back in the day

Why do you want the small bumper instead of the normal truck bumper?

I'd gladly throw mine away and upgrade to the beefier one. It's not a huge difference, but every bit of extra collision insurance helps, IMO.

I plan on making a cradle in the rear that wraps around the frame and have two tow points sticking out. I will also get the tna gas tank skid if someone hits in dead on in the rear they are going under and hit the cradle and hitch. I think it will be ok.

According to lmc the inner brackets don't bolt up, I bet I could modify them or spend the 80 bucks and get the correct ones.

My 77 had that bumper on it when I got it... funny you mention the middle frame brackets, mine where missing!? Lol!
Probably didn't bolt on! :dunno:

I didn't like that bumper, Looked great! :thumb:
But when you step on it to get into the back of your box with the tailgate up there is a very good chance of loosing your nuts as you slip off the focking thing!! Especially if your boots are wet.

Mine got replaced with one I made.
Much better... and my nuts thanked me! :haha:
