"hero" is a strong word son.....

Don't use it too often. You won't have a cool term left for when you totally kill it in a single day.

In the about a year I have been prepping / working on this truck I have never felt like I had one.

I was just super excited I actually did something correct. The reason I used the term hero was because this is a step forward I have been struggling with and felt the weight come off my shoulders knowing it's going to work. :pimp:

I haven't wanted to mess with it for a few days in fear it wasn't going to work.

was scrolling threw thought this thing looked familiar, man this was a while ago...i liked my truck the best with these wheels and 285s. wish i woulda never sold the wheels and got the ones that are on it now.

o and that feeling of realizing your plan is working is a good one! Keep up the good work

On the bumpstops, I wonder if you need a rubber snubber pad where they will hit the spring plate. I don't know, it just seems like it would tear up the aluminum face of the bumpstop, getting smacked on that steel spring plate from time to time. I mean I know it's a pneumatic "bumpstop" but still... What mounting provisions do the manufacturer recommend I wonder...:thinking:

Thanks Andy!, Yes as deuling mentioned these have a hard plastic pad that does get chewed but is replaceable.
 
Does anyone know if the 2wd frames are taller where the engine sits? The ORD cross member doesn't sit flush against the frame and motor mount brackets.

I do have a big block cross member and small block 4wd frame mounts.

Do I need the big block frame mounts also? Or should I shim the frame mount down and run with it?
 
Doesn't look like you're off by much. are your frame rails squared away after tweeking them? If not maybe this will square them up with a little pressure:dunno:

Yes they are straight now, I just drilled the top bolts wrong:doah: I centered them in the frame. I'm thinking for that I will just hog out the hole.
 
That was one of those times when you think to yourself, "if only I had another truck of the same year to look at and compare." Been there. :D
