I'd fix that... factory shift points aren't for longevity they're for comfort
Agreed, you're turning large tires with a mild cam, you need more line pressure to firm up the shifts (especially the way you drive it) and you're leaving performance and actual drivability on the table.

Right now it's a stock engine, stock trans tune. Normal driving it's great, but if you are looking for performance it leaves a little on the table.

I have sent him a message about tuning when he is in town but haven't heard anything back yet.

I think you will find in the long run that the stock tune is best.
I've had aggressive shifting automatics (yes, I have owned autos...), and even manual valve bodies on the street. They are great for performance. Which is like 5% of your actual driving

Yes that is why I went with the factory tune, my goal is long trips, I don't need to be rippin through the mountains at WOT

Yeah not usually. Once the honeymoon is over, you will drive it like normal anyway

I would go for a middle of the spectrum on the trans. I have never been really happy with stock shifts. A little more on the pressure makes it better all the way around in my book. And dial in the full throttle stuff.
But I like the less slippage of the clutches!
My wife isn't impressed with my transmission preferences though! :haha:

So I would not recommend going to the level of my 2 old trucks!!

I think part of the reason is I take it out once a week if that.... So when it does get driven it GETS DRIVEN

A Corvette servo would be a nice touch, I thought I requested one but I don't think it made it in, it would bring out the shift a little more and be firmer.

Idk, my view is it's not a stock truck, why should it be tuned like one?

Especially if you drive it once a week. It's not your Tahoe, Enjoy it!

Nooooooooooo! :eek1:

Do NOT be touching that tranny, under any circumstance, ever, ever, EVER again. :shame:

Until it breaks for the 546,394th time, leave the poor beast alone. For a change. :doah:

So I drove it yesterday and on decell I have a bad tick and vubration, not sure where it is coming from but it drove me nuts and I thought the trans was blowing.

I took off a few things that will vibrate and make noise. Hoping I got rid of it.

Pretty sure I'm driving this to Moab for blazer bash, the 2005 tahoe will be overloaded and it scares me. I will be in convoy with a trailer so worst cause I break mine and drive his hahaha.
