I thought that I only had $300 in parts to do a complete bearing and seal kit, new chain and pump. I did have to buy a pilot bearing puller from Harbor freight. And it took some time to get it all clean in the solvent tank.
If you need any hard parts besides those, post up, I still have a case torn apart. (Parts case)
And @454Sub offered too!

What happens with the electronic trans if you don't get the VSS working properly with the 208?

If you need shoot me a PM. I think this weekend my hellions are headed to their grandma's place for a few days so I'll have spare time. All I want to do is finish this LS swap by Sunday, and wheel mine on Saturday. Small goals

Nah, it isn't a unicorn. I one complete spare here, and another parts case. Others have cases too.

You can still find parts yes but what I'm running into is a used case is around $300 here and it's exactly that used and another $300 for a rebuild. I can rebuild mine but I'll still be looking for another case.

They really aren’t fragile
Nope, the one I have probably had 200K on it before I got a hold of it. Honestly the 4wd doesn't get used very often and I doubt a 208 would break if I end up that route.

Ultimately I would prefer to use a 241 just because of the simplicity of the speed sensor.

Looks like this is probably my best bet if I want to use a 208.

@454Sub and @swettysblazer if you guys could look at your stash box this weekend that would be much appreciated! Thank you.

How do you not lose ~1" of spline engagement with that?

Also, with the speed sensor in the trans, it won't know when you shift into low range. So it will shift up through the gears way early in low range.

I was thinking that, as is the trans doesn't shift into 3rd unless I rev the crap out of it because the ecm doesn't know the tcase is in low.

If i read that right, you still have to buy a lot of parts to make that adapter work.

If that trans had a t-case behind it before, how does it not recognize that it has one now. Does it need reprogrammed to see it?
