Yep and when it dies and your fuel pump goes out, you’ll be getting relays from me and rewiring it in the dirt. Stop buying proprietary stuff
What would be the difference? that it comes on a board rather then pig tails to just pop a new relay in? If I'm not mistaken you can change the relay out in that leash? Do you have a picture of your relay wiring? I'll dig in the camaro thread.

This is basically the relay I get in bulk from digikey...

I could sell you a few of them with the terminals or I could ship you a few from my distributor from painless. I could also supply pigtails at whatever length you want from mine but that would add the cost of the wires and crimping....

These are standard bosch style relays, which means if it goes out you can plug in any standard relay, even if it isn't sealed, to get you home...

That's actually pretty neat for multiple relays Wes.

Doesn't come with the relays but they are standard relays so could be sourced pretty easy.

It does come with relays or it did when I bought it. I have yet to use it. I have a different style on the truck atm. I like this one be cause it has the weather pack style silicone gaskets to help keep moisture out.
One thing, the lid tabs are fragile and need to be used gently.

I have this to use as the control side, to route into the cab. I am hoping I can fish it up the A pillar and use and over head control box. I have a salvage Whelen light control switch box

I'm using that relay box and it's pretty nice. It's a pain to setup with the seals but a little extra time spent wiring it will pay off. I have more photos of how I set it up and a wiring diagram in my build thread in the last few pages or so.

Ben, how many relays do you need? You said fans and fuel pump so I'm assuming 3?

Very nice, currently need 3 but would like to expand to 4 or 5 more.

Just buy a good quality sealed relay setup, I've been using these for 10+ years. I have several of these that have been in service since I rewired the Race Car in 2010. If I was still using it as a Race Car I would have switched the relays out by now just as preventative maintenance. Good quality sealed relays, solder and heat shrink connections, properly supported and tied off wiring leads to long term success.

This is most likely what I’m going to do,I spoke with Mark on the phone and he talked me out of the MSD box.

I have been appointed to talk to the manager about a replacement, seems a little silly to me that it failed with less then 2500 miles on it in 2 years. I watched a Holley video and they mounted it on a frame rail of a fox body mustang with the wire pointing down to the ground. Why can’t mine be mounted under the hood? :dunno:

I agree, if its not in a sealed connector, then I use solder and heat shrink. Crimped connections exposed to moisture are just waiting to be bad connections.

Starting to realize this was a bad choice for this truck. The abuse it will see it was doomed from day 1…

Well MSD is sending me a new one, they said it shouldn’t have gone bad… should I try it again and just bring back up relays?
Well if MSD is standing behind their product then might as well run it. But yes I'd have a spare relay or two and a means to hook it up in your toolbox.

The nice guy in me wants to give them the benefit of doubt but the other side is saying get rid of it…
