Ok, that makes sense, maybe the 17 inch arms is the way to go then. but with the link is the farthest hole it will be tilted to the rear of the truck. I thought I saw on currie's website that it was supposed to be vertical in the last hole.

If all goes well, I should be ordering the 36 inch bar tomorrow from poly perfomance. The 10% off coupon isn't working

That picture is straight from the Currie anti rock sway bar page. You were correct Wade, it doesn't need to be on the final hole vertical.

Would it make a big difference if I put the bar behind the front tires and the arms facing the front? Seems to be more frame to grab going the other way.

You can put it any direction you want.

I figured so, I couldn't think of any reason it would affect the final outcome.

Turns out running it backwards most likely won't work. It would have to before the rear shackle, and I think it would run right into the bell housing of the tranny. I could make ridiculous long arms and run it about body mount location...

I won't be the only one driving this truck, and I want to run it 80MPH down the highway. I would also like to use this truck for some towing and want all the stability I can get. I have even considered a rear sway bar!

I don't own a vehicle with a swaybar...Not my 01 burb, not my Crew Cab...NOTHING! Drive the burb at 80+ regularly... I have hauled a 5000 lb water tank, 7000 lbs of scrap steel in the back of the cc, I stand by what I said.

Do not judge your truck from riding in mine.

Build it like your are. If you feel the sway bar is needed, you can add it later.

I'm not going to lie, the Jimmy made me pucker in the first corner. After that it was fun.

I think I'm going to skip on the sway bar. If for some reason I feel the need, I will do something like this. I already have the 4wd factory bar, I just don't have the cross member to mount it.

You arent building your truck right if it doesnt freak out your mom and sister.

Unless I can come up with a cheap alternative with the factory 4wd sway bar I'm going to let it ride and see what it does.


In other news, I got my TnA cross member in the mail today, can't wait to see it go in.

I'm going to have to fit the engine in soon and build the shock hoops around it. What would be the best way to temp seal the engine up for possibly a few weeks?

Could I use masking tape to cover the open ports in the engine? or should I use something else?

I would figure out a way to wrap it up tight. Moisture, as in condensation can get in everywhere. And it will be your enemy. Is the intake on it? I would at least hang the exhaust manifolds or whatever on it. Then seal them. Keep water from even getting to what you use to seal it with.

I'll bolt the intake on, I was thinking without gaskets and cover the throttle body up. The headers should be here sometime this week hopefully and I will seal the collectors up with zip lock bags and zip ties.

The valve covers will go on without gaskets and the oil cap will be on. I plan on putting the engine bag over it to and the front of the truck will be covered with a tarp as well.

I think this should be good but I don't know for sure. Maybe I'll just not be lazy and paint the engine and completely seal it up...

Painting the engine with out gaskets installed seems like a bad idea. Paint could seep into ports and stuff.
