One last question how is the master cylinder and ac box clearance? I would like to be able to remove them if necessary for repairs.
 
I potentially could order this Monday. :woot:I want to wait a bit, and see how my next paycheck pans out though.

Maybe ORD will have a black friday sale and I might be able to get away with it. Guess we will just have to wait and see. This weekend I have stuff to work on so It's not going on the back burner that far.
 
Droop travel is no problem, the problem with 16's is that you have to use a softer spring rate to get the same ride height (maybe too soft) and you might have issues fitting the shock and shock hoops under the hood.

We don't mess around with 2" shocks on fullsize trucks at all, you're giving up a lot of performance compared to a 2.5". Plus who knows what the valving is and whether it has the hardware for the coils.

And I know FOA had a lot of quality issues early on. I'd keep looking, nothing wrong with trying to find used stuff cheaper but don't settle for less than 2.5" shocks.
 
It's funny, this started out as a simple 2wd to 4wd. Then it turned into custom mid travel leaf springs to long travel 4 link. :doah::haha:
 
my engine swap turned into a frame off restoration... that bug just bites you. "while i've got it apart... might as well"
 
Alright you guys caught me on that one. Got some work done today.

I finally got the new motor mounts instaled I ordered from diy4x, Had to do some slotting on a few parts to get it to align. The drivers side header clears perfect but the passenger side hits the header. :doah: I think when I replace the original body mounts it will clear, if not a light tap with a hammer will make it clear.

If you look closely here you will see how close it is to bolting up to the head.

It looks way worse in pictures for some reason, in person it doesn't look that dusty. :dunno: Maybe it's the combination of the clear coat and flash on my phone. I had a feeling you were going to say something, I just knew it. I have some quick detailer I will have to shine it up.
