I built my whole truck in 6 months. While working 70 hours a week. So stop whining.:

I have that tap. They are very pricey. Do you need left or right hand thread? Or should I send both?
 
I have no idea how you built the Jimmy in 6 months, I think I have 6 months of just looking at my truck on jack stands.

Both would be extremely useful, I looked around and looked like they were 60 dollars a piece.

FYI a new weld-in insert is ~1/4 that price if I remember right
 
Yes, that was another option I looked at as well..


Forgot to mention my ORD bent drag link is in the mail, should be here Friday.

Where are you going to trim the fenders at? Personally I think the fenders on these trucks look better after you trim them up to be more rounded. I never liked the way they were shaped originally, like they were designed for only one size of tire to fit and if you wanted to go bigger...

Are you talking full bump as in both sides or articulating with one side where they hit the fender when turned?

Honestly you will never have both sides at full bump with the wheels turned, if you do, your fender fangs are the least of your worries...

Otherwise under articulation and turned, I don't think I know of a square body that didn't rub :dunno: Its not hard to avoid those situations too. I'd say run the fenders factory and if they rub bad, then you can nip the tip.

You keep thinking like the first time you pull it out of the garage it's going to be perfect. There's going to be a lot of testing and tuning going on.

Yes I do know it won't be perfect but why not put it in every situation I can think of?
It rubs when the drivers side is fully articulated only.
 
Where is it rubbing exactly? If it's on the rear part of the fender, you may be able to knock the inner fender back some. :dunno: I wonder if you could use your bumpstops to prevent this. What are you going to do about bumpstops anyway? No. Actually you should just focus on the task at hand for now.
 
With bigger tires it's going to rub the inner fender. Just something I'm going to have to deal with.

I'll trim the fender back to the inners to relieve that problem. I have a set of fox 2.0#
Air bumps.
 
I remembered that you had gotten the air bumps but I didn't know if that was still in the plan to go with them or not.

I say don't trim anything yet until you get the air bumps installed.
 
I have them semi installed, you can see the can in this picture, It's tacked on the frame.

In other news, got my bent ORD drag link today, hoping this weekend I can try it out with the new and improved links. Between work and other things I'm feeling burnt out again. Going to try my hardest to push through, BB 14 here I come.:thumb:
 
Well yesterday I was out sick for food poisoning... DAMN YOU TACO BELL.

Thought I was doing ok today but only managed to change out the drag link before I lost energy. I started looking at it and how do you guys recommend getting the pan hard bar at the same angle?
 
It sucks cause I might be the only one that likes eating Taco Bell. Was looking forward to getting stuff done on the truck today but it wasn't going to happen.
 
You live in Arizona, and out of all the Mexican joints that are probably around you, you choose Taco Bell? Lol
 
Sorry about that one, but figured why not.

Maybe sometime this week I can figure out how to set the pan hard back up and get the links in one more time.
