I know we rag on you dude. But I think most of us do it with good intentions. Hoping that it will push you.
I know personally having a gf puts a dent in my truck time. We fight about it alot too lol.
Just gotta do careful planning so that I can give her some time, but then have time for mine. Once its warmer out Ill have more time during the week. But I dont like turning on the heat in someone elses shop when they are not gonna be out in the shop themselves....

Funny thing is we don't argue about the truck, see wants me to finish it just about as much as you guys. It's me not wanting to take advantage of her car and take it for a day. I just don't thing it's right.
If people were not so dumb on craigslist I would have something already. I have cash in my hand for someone not wasting my time.

I know you have plenty of parts to work with and you dont need to spend much more money on parts to get at least a few things done.

Because I feel I'm taking advantage of her, I don't want it to create issues. It's a total of 50 mins of drive time to and back to where the truck is. Once I get a vehicle of my own I plan on hitting it HARD.

Its a hard one for most of them I think. Unless I have a bunch of things she can paint.... She gets bored.
Not that there isnt lots of things she could slap some paint on.... But when im under the thing wrenching and welding, I dont really want her there too.

I don't know how it works in AZ, but we're sitting under about 4 feet of snow now...it's cold, it's miserable, and my motivation to work on my project is gone.
I got to mid-January this year before it happened.... Usually it happens even earlier than that. Mentally, I'm just not interested in being out in the shop but in some ways I think that it's healthier than working obsessively 24/7/365 on it. My mind can rest for a while and in about 30 days when the weather starts to improve I will end up feeling refreshed and energized about getting started again.

I understand how that slows things down. My truck projects are likewise on winter vacation at this time of year. But somehow I don't see Baba dealing with 4' of snow in PHX (or whatever nearby area he moved to). Isn't the cooler season the optimal work weather for projects in that area?
I enjoy a 32 degree shop when fabbing. I was down to a t shirt the other day because I was sweating too much with no heat on.
Working slow and yah cold sucks. But if your working on stuff in a go go go manner.... The cold doesnt seem bad at all. Way better than 90 degrees in the summer when you cant lift a finger without sweating

Yes this is the prime season to be building. It sure beats 116 degrees working on a truck.

Nope & nope. I just wanted to brag on her for a moment. Mechanical work isn't her favorite hobby, but she has turned lots of wrenches with me, from axle swaps to head gasket replacements. She's awesome.
And I like to tell people about it.
