You are going to leave it at 4? I think it would handle even better with 7 or 8 degrees caster. But then again I am not sure what your pinion angle change will be so maybe its better to leave it at 4 so it doesn't go down too much under full droop? How much angle clearance do you have at full droop for your driveshaft?
 
I want to add a degree or two, how much difference is it going to make?

At full droop the pinion is pointed right at the t case.
 
You will have to play with it. The more caster generally the better.. to a point. you might induce wobble if you have too much, I don't think your close to that mark, Id add more if you can and drive it. Steering effort on a hot parking lot will tell you a lot. if you have power steering and it doesn't wobble give it more.. it only helps with stability.
 
Sounds like a plan, I would like a bit more stability especially sense it has no sway bar.

What is the go to choice for breather hose? I need to run some my t case doesn't like the rigged one on it now.

What is the pinion angle at ride height? I don't recall, you have a front CV shaft?

I agree with Steve, I would definitely go more if you have more angle available on your driveshaft. Unless your pinion angle is already horrible at ride height or something.

For reference I rotated my inner Cs, and I ended up around 10 degrees caster at ride height, a little more than I was shooting for (8), but it handles great.

Mitch uses better vent hose than I do, I just use rubber fuel line. He has a good idea, the tranny stuff is probably "gooder".

That shaft should be a 3R CV type. unless you clearanced the yoke be carefull it runs out of travel fast... this means you also should have the yoke in the same phase as the lower U joint not out of phase, which may require you to rotate the C knuckle.. if not it will vibrate.
 
Talked with Ord today, they recommend 6-8 degrees. I'll be making adjustments on Saturday.

The t case is leaking, think it's coming below the breather from a big bolt? Not sure what it is.

I use fuel line as well. Just whatever you do, please do not use the stupid yellow air hose coil. :doah:
 
The np241 is leaking, what are the common points of leak? Haven't had a good chance to check it out.

Common points of leak include:

1) Where the fluid is coming out
2) Where the case is insufficiently sealed
3) Where a gasket has failed
4) Where there's a hole
5) Where the case has broken open after smashing into boulders

I've had mine leak at the clocking ring which I had to redo a couple of times before I figured out a good method to seal it. I've also had the adapter come loose at the transmission. Those are the 2 places I've had leaks come from.
 
Mine started leaking recently too. It's coming from the hole for the shift lever... The only place I didn't replace the gasket and reseal. of course.
 
It appears to be coming from "69"

But I need to clean it and keep checking it. After 14 miles on the free way it has a few drops.


I hate leaks with a passion. I will tear it down and replace it until.
