I'd pull it apart and at least see what's wrong. There's a chance it's something easy and pulling it apart can't be very expensive as long as you have the space. Plus you'll gain some experience that may transfer over to rebuilding another engine.
 
Well at the time the truck is parked in my brothers driveway. He lives in a hoa and he has had his garage apart for some time for a project. He thinks we could have it done in a few weeks then I can take the engine out.
 
I must give you credit my friend, you have an indomitable spirit when it comes to your rig. You refuse to give up, and keep plugging along regardless. I salute you.
 
Truck never gave up on me, always got me to places I needed. Just didn't always make it home.

Everyone at work was thinking I was weird for not wanting to drive it home. I know this trucks history and it would have let go on the highway needing that $100 tow bill for 2 miles that I was quoted....

I'll keep on keeping on until I'm dead.:thumb:
 
Well, the last time I got to drive it when it sounded fine I did some data logging. 208motorsports is going to check it over and make sure I didn't get a shady tune that made the engine esssssplode. (@Deuling)

Maybe between this and a tear down I can figure it out.
 
It wouldn't hurt to have it checked out is what I figure. I hope it wasn't a bad tune, would have been a expensive mistake.

Anybody know where I can upload a 30mb file, it's to big to email over to 208.

If all goes well, it's coming on sunday and going to the machine shop as a short block. they are going to take a look at it and clean the block... $130 i can't complain at that.
 
They are going to investigate for me and clean the block and check for cracks.

For knowledge and the cleaning I'll be glad to spend 130 dollars with a full estimate.

Engine sounds like crap and full of metal, not much investigation to do. In order to pull the pan I have to lift the engine anyway... Might as well pull it set it on a stand.

Also this is my only mode of transportation and I need it back asap and work 60+ hours a week. To top if off I don't own a garage. If I had time I would love to learn and fix it myself. This build took me 4 years, I don't want it to be that long before it's back, I'm going to need help.
