I'd say it's worth giving them a try! $250.00 for the compressor and the bags together doesn't sound all too bad either. Me personally... I'm cheap and wouldn't have a problem airing them up manually. Lol

That will work not bad on price either
I used to tow my jimmy with my 2001 1500 Silverado. I kept it at a safe speed and it did just fine. Now that the Jimmy has gained weight, I don't think I would try it.
I would be going no faster then 60 mph, no way I would try it 75.

I miss mine. I thought about towing my truck with it. I figured it would be great to ride in comfort and then at night I could fold down the seats and sleep in the back. I was a little scared about the towing capacity too but just never got a chance to tow much with it.

Thanks man, as far as mods not really interested in a lot. I want to keep it stock. it has a 2 inxh b lift in the front and at least a Gibson cat back exhaust.Nice 'hoe.

I've towed with a very similar combination and I don't think I would do it again. 02 Tahoe 5.3/4L60/3.73 with bags and electric trailer brakes. The k10 was stock back then (lighter) and it was a 3hr haul.
Do they make dollies that can handle the width/weight of your k20? Might be a safer solution. Disconnect the rear shaft at the axle and tie it up for the haul.

How was your experience doing this? I could toss it on a dolly but I'm not a fan of those, they kind of scare me. Obviously a trailer would be tons better but with a halfton it might be sketchy.
This would be so much easier if we @Countrycholo and i could find a 35 foot bumper pull trailer to go behind his duramax for his k5 and mine.
I have looked for hours and nobody has one or we would have to go to 5th wheel hitch and a HD equipment trailer.
I was gonna say. That is way long to be bumper pull. Why not do a goose with a flip over ball. Would allow for empty bed most of the time
It's just a lot of weight for a 1/2 ton and considerably underpowered. I wasn't happy with the tongue weight which was causing it to sway a little with the right bumps/speed.
Also depends on the trailer. If it's pushing the limits of the trailer and toe rig ( @Deuling ) then it's not going to pull good but a little heavier duty trailer will make a huge difference even with a smaller less capable rig. BUT this isn't me telling anyone what is right or wrong. Just my opinion. I actually piled up my 01 dodge half ton because I considered it equal to my 97 half ton. 01 was stock. 97 had 3/4 ton front coils, and an add a leaf in the rear, also had 10 ply 35" tires so it pulled really good. Unfortunately it was down at the time I needed it so I made a poor choice and used the 01. The trailer I was using that day was loaded to the max and started to sway BAD @65-70 which ended badly. Before that I had used my 97 to pull almost the exact same load with a better trailer 75mph with absolutely no issues. I do feel that this is possible and that your rig is/can be fully capable of doing this BUT there are some important measures to take. Just my .02
When you tow with a correct/safe setup it definitely changes your perspective on things. I spent the day yesterday towing the 26' car hauler with my dads 2010 Cummins and its an effortless drive with good brakes, suspension and a jake brake. I've towed tons of cars with the flatbed behind the Tahoe, however with the K10 loaded on it, at freeway speeds I was not comfortable with it. I think if I still had my 2500hd it would be fine.
I agree. My 07 cummins was the same way other than no exhaust brake and enough power to allow me to make dumb choices. My wife's 11 ram 1500 pulls awesome too but it weighs about as much as my 07 and has 10 ply 35" tires. My 07 was on 37" toyo MTs. No lift just leveled and manipulated fenders. This is more of a will it work? Yes. Is it right? Maybe maybe not. Kind of deal here.
And IMHO two trucks on a bumper pull is bad juju. No beano...
