He does not need a whole nother set of gears to maintain. He needs a horse. When it goes lame, shoot it.

If you want a cheap simple doubler that's super tough look into a BOX4ROCKS. Not sure if they're still in business but I've been running mine for about 8 years now and the only problem I had wasn't a strength issue. I think my kid was messing with the shifter when I wasn't looking and had it jammed up. Pretty simple to put together other than me overthinking the shifters. I know that aluminum t-cases have a bad rep but the NP241 is pretty tough as long as they're braced properly and not dragging on rocks. I've beat the crap out of mine and the only thing I've done is screw up the synchros because my linkage came loose and got caught in my driveshaft. Parts are super cheap too. And if you want to get all fancy you can find a couple cases with electric shift. If this thing did blow up i have a mid 90s np241 I might be able to steal parts from.

They also keep you from burning up trannies.A lot more needed then you think.

LolI`d just be supper stoked if it would drive down the road for longer than two days!![]()
