I would but I'm hitting the highway at the end of the month for a few hours and I drive this thing on the street.
After you hear ten to twenty rigs turning right out of the city market parking lot in Moab you will want a full time locker so you can relive it every time you drive it.

Meh I have run welded for short periods. Didn't make much of a difference but I can see a welded diff staying in longer than intended just cause it means the truck is driving
I think I've been running a high voltage E-locker for 8 years now?
Ultimate goal would be to put a selectable locker in the rear.
At this point, he could probably weld the G80 carrier. It's trashed anyway, so there's no loss there. Zero dollar Lincoln locker.

My front is welded. Detroit rear. My truck acts very similar to my brother's burban with a welded rear.
I would rather not hit the open highway with a welded rear and go around town.

FYI, I totally agree. I would not be welding it.
Do you have issues steering? When we were coming down the switchbacks from the mountain this weekend, the JK in front of me had his front axle locked, and it wouldn't turn with a crap, he had to make 8 point turns all over the place. He then unlocked it, and it made a huge difference.
