By rotating the axle to get more caster you will also be changing your pinion angle which could cause vibrations.

Correct, I feel like it is a gamble but I'm willing to give it a shot to see what the out come is, who knows maybe it will correct some of it?
 
Won't you be making your pinion angle worse if you increase caster? What are your driveline angles at now?
Yes, it is perfectly straight at the tcase, a few degrees I think wont hurt it, it will be a experiment I'm hoping will help drivability.

Who wants to drive a tank to the malls anyway. :pimp:
 
If you change rear suspension it will affect front axle caster. If you lift the rear suspension, you are effectively rotating the front pinion up. Or lowering the rear suspension will do the opposite. I have no idea the relation between change in rear suspension to degrees of front axle caster, maybe it's not much.

Unless I'm way off on my understanding of caster angle but I thought it was relative to the ground being the 0° starting point.

I think it's easier to visualize if you think about in the extreme like a "stink bug" stance I've heard some call it.

I see what you mean.

I always thought the ground was just a surface and the ball joint would be the 0 degree, anything forward is negative and back is positive. At least I hope so cause that is how I set the axle up with the brackets with the steering arms at 0.
 
measured from a level plane established by the bottom of the 4 tires at static ride hight for daily driving.
That is exactly what I will need to do, hopefully I can get the tires off on jack stands one at a time and make sure the axle is still level at ride height. This will make turning the control arms much easier I think.
 
I just had mine up on the alignment rack last week to set the toe at work. Caster measured in at 6.7 degrees.
