So while I had daylight and could actually see I found the harness was pinched between the cab and the trans. Couldn't find any crimp fittings so I used wire nuts and went for a little drive, shifts fine and perfect. I'll fix it in the next few days correctly before I really drive it.
 
If you need to make it a plug connector, the weather pack kits are worth the investment. If you are interested I can get you info on the one I ordered with the good crimper tool. I had debated for a long time about getting them and I'm glad I did. I've used the heck out of them. They are easy to do.

It's in the middle of the harness, so it's kind of weird.
 
Well here is my big secret for Blazer bash, for those that have been following this thread from the beginning know I have always wanted to paint this truck...

I settled on a plasti dip kit and have done a lot of research and have talked with a few people. It won't be perfect but it will be better then it is now.
