I just got off the phone with Tilden, they advised strongly against a stand-alone setup.. told me the gen3 was the best oem controller you could put in the truck.. they know what their doin so....

I have 70,000 miles on my 700r4. It has chirped the 35's going into second a ton of times. I also tow my 3000 pound boat in overdrive on none level ground, 170 miles round trip. I abuse it all the time.

Do you do this 2wd or 4wd?
I do it in 4wd in my Jimmy all the time still have a perfect 700r4.
it's in 2wd, I'm scared to try and do one in 4wd :haha: Although a doughnut would be fun to try...

As others have said there is no reason it shouldn't work for me. I just need a quality built trans this time by a reputable shop.

Oh we told him like 15 tranny's ago that Greg ships transmissions

I still wanna make sure the controller and line pressure are correct
Controller is the factory gm 4l60e tune nothing changed other then the torque management set to 0. I have confirmed this with the tuner.

I don’t understand why you haven’t just been Ducato’d Yet. I’m sure @Greg Ducato would do ya right
I wanted to try a local builder out and the race team guy pretty much built it for a 30 pack of Coors light and they built transmissions everyday. The warranty was hard to beat with free labor and parts at cost.

Have you put a pressure gauge to it then? I know that you probably don't want to buy it for just a few uses, but sometimes the information it can give is great.

I haven't, been working a lot of hours lately and haven't touched it. Hope this Saturday if I'm not working I can mess with it.

There’s a known issue with the 3-4 shift that causes 4th gear issues. Google for 5 min will tell you more.

Stephens blazer Wally has a 700r4 behind a 505 big block, they can live but you have to understand how to make them live, your burnouts with torque Managment off doesn’t fit with long term trans life.
