How can you be sure you internals are fine?If I didn't need to change everything and have to pay for a new tune I would go 4l80e. Honestly the internals of mine right now are fine just the case cracked.

Wow bringing out Carnac for the kids huh?Carnac the magnificent.
Welcome once again, O Great Sage... I hold in my hand these envelopes. As a child of four can
plainly see, these envelopes have been hermetically sealed. They've been kept in a #2 mayonnaise
jar since noon today on Funk and Wagnell's porch. No one knows the contents of these envelopes,
but you, in your divine and mystical way, will ascertain the answers to these questions having never
seen them before.
You know what it takes to fix the problem. If you choose your way to do it and it don't last it's on you. You are stubborn about it and that's ok. I think we all were in our younger years.

) but there will be hard parts from it that are worth something on the used market. If it fails again in the next few years then it's 4L80 time, and if it was me I would not be doing a Electronic version, I would do a full manual with slightly upgraded parts. That's a $6,000 transmission minimum when you start from scratch. The way he wants to drive it and hot rod everything makes a manual valve body with full line pressure shifts make sense, it's going to suck at times but will be more what he needs.
