I haven't looked up prices at all, but you're gonna be just about starting over needing a new case and rebuilding again - is it that much more money to fit a 4l80 in at this point?

I honestly don't know... I get into that MAW mindset when I tear into something, I'm lazy and only like doing something once.
Doing a 4l80e will be about 2200 more.

I have been in talks with @Greg Ducato , not messing around this time... I have told him my driving style future upgrades I would like to do and we are coming up with a list of parts. It's sounding like the next upgrade after this and it's billet parts and we both agreed that isn't needed. At that point I'll take the truck off the road and do a 4L80E or something else.

Good torque converter company? Right now I have a transtar house brand.

Maybe talk to Shawn about who he is using, I thought there were several good places in the Phoenix metro area for converters. I know Hughes is there and with the proximity to racing I'm sure you'll find something that is somewhat local easy enough.

Edit, The Converter shop in Havasu was well regarded and made quality converters, I want to say that is where mine is from now.

And, I'm a lovable ass at least, or is that an acquired taste? :D

The converters we use are maximum offroad but are 800$ but I don’t see how you need anything more than stock?? It’s a stock lq4 isn’t it??

The stock 300mm style 4L60E uses a furnace brazed bowl and heavy duty damper assembly, it has a construction that resists ballooning and is far better than the early 298MM 4L60E ( non LS) in every respect. If it isn't full of metal his Transtar converter will be fine.
