Nice. Those rides don’t always get the love they deserve. Neat cars.53 sedan, my roommates with a inline 6.
Have had one for years, the trans hangs around 205 in the heat. I would like to get it lower. So you have a trans oil temp guage now ?
Be curious to know what past trans temps in Phoenix summer w/o rad cooler compared to with.
No problem. Happy to help. Good job on the sending unit. After a few issues the truck is running has 20 gallons of 91 and under heavy load the fuel psi drops to 56 at idle its 59.
It rips, much more power then before. Thanks @folkenheath for setting me up with the correct fuel system.
Not sure on the part number but they are GM 50lb injectors, I could find them if you want. I'm a little confused on the manifold reference signal and don't fully understand how it works, I thought the engine required 58 psi at all times? No problem. Happy to help. Good job on the sending unit.
Now that you have the right system, hook up the manifold reference hose so it's not 59 at idle.
Also, I remember you running large injectors, that were way overkill? I would run them at 43 psi if so, not 58. Then at idle with the manifod reference they will drop to maybe ~35 depending on your engine vacuum, and still go back to 43 at full load.
Just remember to change your set fuel pressure in the Holley parameters to 43 and not 58. Even if your injectors are rated at 58, some are rated at 43 and some at 58, make sure you have those 3 input correctly, the flow rating and flow pressure, and the set pressure.
This should give you better resolution and fuel control at idle by just hooking up the vacuum hose to the regulator and lowering your fuel pressure.
BTW, where did you find the install kit in stock?
Found a shop that will clean my radiator, they said about $220 to disassemble it and flush the trans cooler. I was looking for another 4 core radiator to replace it that's brass and copper. It is closer to $600!
