Can you put an angle finder on the pan and tell me if it’s flat?I have a 4l65e and 241 but don't have the leaking issues you have. Weird
The tcase is fine it’s the seal between the trans and tcase that eats up. Would you be able to put an angle finder on the trans pan as well to see where it’s at? I wonder if mine is pointed down adding to the fact.Well something is definitly wrong, because none of my 241’s or 208’s leak.

No, I understand where youre talking about. I meant that spot. You should be able to over fill it by gallons and it shouldnt leak. The tcase is fine it’s the seal between the trans and tcase that eats up. Wouldn’t it be hilarious if I had the wrong dipstick and have been overfilling it for 9 years?![]()
I see what you mean, I’ll give Greg’s shop a call tomorrow and see what they say.No, I understand where youre talking about. I meant that spot. You should be able to over fill it by gallons and it shouldnt leak
I mean, I could, but I don't always park on a flat surface, and it never leaks. Also, I overfill it by at least a quart so that on really steep climbs I don't run low on fluid. I don't think this is your issue. Can you put an angle finder on the pan and tell me if it’s flat?
NopeIs there 3 tabs next to the hole, like there's supposed to be a plug in there?
I’ll double check tomorrow but it has a new advanced adapters adapter housing and this is the 2nd tcase it has had in it with the same results.I mean, I could, but I don't always park on a flat surface, and it never leaks. Something is wrong with your mating surfaces. I use a very light coat of right stuff and don't have a problem unless the bolts get loose.
Not sure what you’re saying. Tcase is a 91 np241Wait, isnt this supposed to have a square cut o-ring?
I am pretty sure mine does.Wait, isnt this supposed to have a square cut o-ring?
lol I know, I just don’t want to fix it then drain it a week later. This week it’s going to a show on Friday and then the cam swap happens.
Here is a better picture as to why it leaks. You can’t tell but back in there is a hole directly to the pan. Converter drains, overfills pan then comes up through the hole and sits against the right stuff gasket and eats it.

It did it with the last adapter also, it seems when I park the truck for some time it just gets eat up.I would put a lite coat of silicone on the gasket, just in case there's any pits in the aluminum. I'm also wondering if the advance adapters piece is the issue....
Already studded, some of the rtv is on the tcase side when I pulled it, some of it peeled with it. Doing a “feel test” the silicone definitely failed as it doesn’t even feel like right stuffWhen I had a clocking ring with my NP208 and 241, i had to be meticulous about putting a bead of RTV around each mounting hole on the face of the transfer case. In the picture below I can see what appears to be bare metal around a couple of the mounting holes.
If I was you, I'd put studs in the 241 so you're not messing around lining things up which results in the bead of RTV getting wiped off in places. Just set it up there and push into place.
I think a gasket skimmed with RTV on both sides might work. But from what I remember, the face of the tcase is very thin around the mounting holes so a gasket has to be perfectly made.
Try ditching the silicone and using the oem gasket.
