1982 Chevy K30 Dually

I don't think ride quality will be affected over stock, at least not enough to notice.

I know 235's are not an issue, I'm asking if 255's will be ok. 235's are 9.25" wide (nominal) vs 255's at 10".

Sorry, I miss read what you were asking.

The 19.5s are a nice option. Keep your eye out, I see used bread van wheels on CL every now and then.

After doing some more looking around, I found 245/70R19.5's in a Toyo M608Z for about $1200 more than going with 235/85R16's. 33.2" OD x 9.4" wide. I won't need spacers with these tires. Just another used set of wheels.

I have that same size on my dually crew cab, they work good.
If you are looking for 19.5" wheels and can't find some local for a reasonable price let me know.

I found a wrecking yard that will sell me a set of (6) for $500. Now I just need to decide if I want to spend that much on tires or stick with the 16"s to save $2000.

Myself personally, i think that the 19.5s look out of place on a pickup. The 16's still look hardcore and rugged but look right at home.

Well mine is a commercial truck with a big stake bed, so they look good.:thumb:

I just received a gear reduction starter in the mail today. I will be happy to get it installed and be able to start the truck reliably soon.

If you want to swap them for locking, let me know I have a set of nice OE (NOT SPICER) ones off my 86 K30 I would trade you for.

I don't want to change them right now, but maybe this summer. I have too many other things going on at once right now and they are not broke.
