1984 K30 "C4" Truggy on Rockwells

might be too early for your build but I know there is usually a toys 4 tots drive there after thanksgiving. I will let you know when I hear something.

Sounds good. That's the beauty of this build is my K5 crawler is always ready to go, so I can still wheel while I'm building this

well like i said i would let you know when i found out but its short notice lol. Toys 4 tots run tomorrow at virtue flat, they are meeting at the parking lot at 10AM.

Pulled the rear leafs and decided I was gonna use them (was contemplating getting a new set of springs). Cleaned them up, removed the factory bushings and installed some new poly ones, and added an EZ inch. I think it sits real good now. I think once I get the rest of the drivetrain in, it’ll sit just perfect. I also moved the axle forward one more inch, so now the wheelbase is exactly 138”

I also had to order some stricker pins from DIY4x that work with these tube doors. At the same time I ordered some of his cup holders for the rear doors to weld on (I used the same ones on the front doors when I put them on my K5 and love the cup holder for these doors). So @mrk5 , there’s the cup holders situation done, haha

Damn, I forgot to ask if you needed the strikers. Noticed them on the truck the other day and thought of you.

No worries. I had to order the EZ inch’s from Kurt anyways, so had him throw the strickers and cup holders in at the same time

I'd swap those shackle nuts for some nylocks or pinch nuts. Hate to have one come loose and fall off.

Front shocks are in. Used the common Ford shock towers that most everyone uses. I have them on my blazer and blue tow rig. They’re cheap and easy to get installed. Welded the lower tabs to the top of the axle that came with the ruffstuff simple swap kit. And installed some bilstein 5125’s that I use on all my rigs.

I was thinking I was going to wait to install the rear shocks until I do the rear tube bed (as my thought was the upper mount would be off the tubes), but now I’m thinking of getting another set of the Ford shock towers and doing the rears off that. We’ll see what I do

What kind of led pods did you go with? There are so many on the market it's hard to weed out the cheaper quality products.

Bought a bundle package from Quality Light Bar. They sell pretty much the same Chinese LED’s that all the other companies sell. I have the same pod’s on my K5 and my tow rig and for the price I like them. I’m sure there are some others who may have better light quality, but I ain’t paying the price of those things. These are just fine for me

Got the front LED bar and the rock lights all wired up to my switch panel. I like it. A also have a curved 50” bar (came in the bundle pack) that I think I’ll use on this too, but I don’t want to install that until after I do the exo cage (probably will build the mounts for that bar off the exo cage). So that’ll wait until later on
