1984 K30 "C4" Truggy on Rockwells

Saw some 58s for the first time this weekend. Thought of this truck when i saw them.View attachment 385785

You pretty much are maxed to 50" tires and smaller on stock rockwells (and honestly some chromo shafts in the front are probably needed too...I'm gonna wait until I break a stock shaft before upgrading to those), but when you get to those 54"-58" range tire, you pretty much have to run AT4000 axles.

What's funny is I don't think I've seen a single person actual run those 58" actually wheeling. I've only seen them on SEMA rigs with Bluetooth front shafts

Added a couple tubes down to the frame to add more rigidity. This B pillar (or I guess technically C pillar on this crew cab once I’m done with the exo cage) acts kinda like a crossmember for where my front spring mounts for my rear leaf springs now. 6CB65987-EFB4-4B92-BCE2-EB134D5DBCA8.jpeg

Looking good! Are you going to run kicker bars from the roll bar hoop to the back of the bed?

Yeah, that's my plan. Also I'll have bars that go from the middle cross brace on the c pillar back to that hoop too, then kickers down from that to the frame in a couple spots on both side. that way the frame is braced up in multiple locations all the way to the back of the truck

I need to get a few more sticks of tube to keep working on the a pillar and bracing up top, but I was bored this afternoon and had just enough scrap to make something happen. So whipped these up to add a little more style and bracing on the rear part of the cage. I’m very happy with how little waste I’ve had so far, especially with how expensive metal is right now7576195D-2EB3-4B82-B0C3-B68A8AA0E4E5.jpegBE5910E4-74F9-4FD2-8C89-78AC3E2C8C16.jpeg259638EE-E73B-4258-AA89-808808051375.jpeg02A03F86-4CD9-48AA-B920-0BB997A55060.jpeg

Wow, that looks like a lot of work went into that tube work!
Let’s just say the two a pillar tubes alone took me over 6 hours to complete. I knew those two tubes would be the most difficult
