1988 gmc 2500 overland build

Rough country have a pretty high spring rate. So it may not ride like stock with an ez inch.

However, despite what most haters of rough country springs will say, I've had 4" rc springs for 15+ years and can't complain they are too stiff. My ride quality improved with better shocks when I put Bilstein 5100's on.

If you get them for cheap I'd run them. Get good shocks for sure.
Ive got a lot of extra weight on the front with the bumper, winch and extra battery. Hopefully that will help

Made some progress the last 2 weeks. Found a sale on tuff country ez ride 2" springs that summit racing matched and had at my door in a day.

Ordered bilstein 5125s from ORD, they are 10" travel front and rear. They show 4" of shaft at ride height in the aux position in the front. I hope that works without having to put on the ford towers.20210717_105201.jpg20210717_105159.jpg20210717_105153.jpg
I also convinced a welder from work to come help me on my roof rack this morning. I think it came out pretty good. I just have to fit the rtt and get it powder coated20210717_105201.jpg20210717_105159.jpg20210717_105153.jpg20210717_095948.jpg20210717_101401.jpg20210717_105144.jpg

Gonna need some info on the Chevy II.
Thats my long term project. Its a full protouring build. Its got a 427 ls3 that made 680/585 at westech built by tony mamo. Theres a fabricated 9" full floater with gun drilled axles. Full church boys racing suspension with Z06 brakes all around. I have a t56 magnum for it but am thinking about selling it and getting a tkx so i can keep the original tunnel. Holley dominator with 12" screen to run it all.

Suburban is finally getting the motor swapped out. Hopefully get it back next week.

Isnt there supposed to be a skid plate on the crossmember? Does anyone have one?

They're easily found. 208 and 241 are the same plates. At least they easily interchange.

New motor is finally in. Took the kid camping at indian valley reservoir yesterday. Had to leave this morning because the wind blew in a lot of smoke. Truck rides much better with the new shocks and front springs offroad.

Awesome! Great to see all the gear getting used. Too bad about the smoke though.

How do you like the Milestar tires so far?

The milestars are great so far. They deal with the load good on the street and are pretty soft when aired down to 20 on the trails and fire roads. They are quiet on the street too

Diy4x makes rocksliders and all sorts of stuff for the burb
Diy4x wont make them for a suburban. I ended up buying just their brackets and 80" sliders for a toyota. I just need to get some time to fit them up
