1989 Diesel Jimmy. What do we have here hmmmm

Adam is going to be hurt in the AM, you guys are just meanies!

True it was unmolested but not clean. I started to take the carpet up to check stuff................. I just put it back down and walked away trying to forget what I saw. :eek1:

It was definitely a Utah truck
So I take it that it didn't look anything like that body you brought down to me?:haha: Pretty hard to find clean bodies like that one, now if only I could get around to getting it put onto Krusty.

It looked great on the outside but underneath its pretty bad, fortunately i happen to have another clean body that will get swapped over

Believe it or not that's what Krusty looked like when I first bought her. Nice paint, no visible rust, but had I taken a bit more time I might have passed. I didn't realize how much rust was painted over, nor how bad the floors actually were rotted. I'm glad I didn't pass, but it still seems like a lot of work ahead of me.

Jason you and me need to have a work weekend where everyone gets together and helps us do the body swap:D

dang it, how'd I miss this?

fwiw, I just LOVE driving my 6.2 'burb...about 10 mph under the limit!

I'm going to be a great cranky old man :pimp:

That's a ways down the line for me, if I am doing the work to swap bodies I want to get the frame stripped, painted and a ton of other stuff. I need to get some cash set aside to pick up a shackle flip from Kert as well.

Krusty started life in Utah, and trust me when I say that it had a lot of rust. Certainly not rust belt level, but most of Utah uses heavy salt on the roads during the winter and it takes a hell of a toll on our vehicles. Luckily Eric provided me with a very clean, I'm talking factory fresh underneath, replacement tub for her. Down south though it isn't nearly as bad in many areas.

Nearly the most awesome thing you can do with a blazer/jimmy:D:D

Ready to watch Brave and The Avengers:D:D

Taking off the top was a huge pain, had to do the old weld a nut on top of bolt on one, took several bolts off with vice grips, going to go get proper fastners when I put it back on

Sweet. I wish we still had a drive -in. Good times.

We have 2 just in Idaho Falls, Rexburg which is 20 minutes away has one too.

They are packed all the time so hopefully they will be around quite a while.

Went out this morning and started the truck, was 25 outside I had not plugged it in and it fired right up with no trouble. I am very excited the engine seems to be doing so well.

I am going to drive the crap out of this thing once I get the trans installed :D

I have to give my 6.2 with a banks a spray of starter to get it going no matter what the tempature is... Glow plugs replaced not too long ago, what else do I need to do?

This is not a tech thread, you need to post your own thread, but I will tell you, you have a leak in your fuel system and the little bit of air going in makes it hard to start, but with a whiff of starting fluid it starts.
Find your leak, and you fix it.

Are you sure your glow plugs are coming on?

You do realize that using starting fluid in these motors can cause damage to the glow plug system.

I would start by bypassing the glowplug control and doing it manually.

Issam is right though they are super sensitive to air in the system. My fuel pump was leaking just a bit and it made it very hard to start

Mine had a crack in the fuel line coming to the fuel filter.
Every morning it was hard to start, and once it was warmed up, it started up fine, when I finally found the problem, it started fine everymorning.
I ended up selling it the following week and regret it since, it was my best turbo diesel burb I ever had.:doah:
