1989 Diesel Jimmy. What do we have here hmmmm

hmm, never seen that before.

Hope its all good now!

That's cause you have never tried to start a 6.2 at 0° with one working glow plug so your wife could drive to work. Yes it got hot to say the least. Fixed now. Drove it to a buddies house to start on his new frame section tonight

Good point.

We were slaving a HEMTT off of another HEMTT last week in about 0 F weather. The slavee had jelled fuel and weak batteries so it wasn't starting easily. After a couple minutes we realized the slave cables were making steam.
Whoops.

Screech bang smash:eek1:

Well fortunately not. Come to think of it there wasn't any screeching either. Lost brakes. They still pump up kind of. Gonna investigate today.

Some scary moments that's for sure

So no fluid coming out for the rear brakes, doesn't appear to be blockage and I can blow air backwards up through it.

Also tried to bleed them, there is just no fluid going to the back fronts are bled but pedal is still way soft

My brakes have been leaking for a while. Not really a drip drip leak but more of a why is everything wet around the master kind of leak. It never even formed a drip I could see.

So I am thinking I need a new master.

Yeah sounds about right....

My heap did that last year, bam no brakes... MC was toast :haha:

Haha! Hit my garage wall with my POS. But I know for a fact that everything is wrong with my bakes! :eek1::haha:

Glad you didn`t wreck anything Eric.

Me too Dean. I blew a red light though which I was very lucky to be the first one stopping. After that I was super careful. Before then I didn't know the problem existed. Dang lucky

Not the Dmax I hope?

Woo hoo 6 lug 14 b sf procured. I need the jimmy to be 4wd capable before we move. You would want it to be too if the annual snowfall last year was just a touch over 6' and they called it a pretty easy winter:eek1:

Anyway gonna document every change needed

Guess I need to get on the computer and do a title change.

Well the efforts of me putting off several things that need addressed are really coming to a critical mass kind of point. Most things not addressed because our future is kind of up in the air.

Well the fact that I need occasionally to drive to Afton for one reason or another has required some things to be addressed. Don't want to spend the money cause I am sure we will need it somewhere else but right now the jimmy is the somewhere else

1st thing rear axle. Cant put this off anymore. The 10 bolt is absolutely awful. Making noises vibrating etc. Parts I have to fix it, 14 b 6 lug sf. Gotta gear it change the perches and shock mounts.

2nd item. Tires this one is killing me. Just committed to buy some 37x12.5x16.5 oz wranglers, these are the military take offs. The worst one is probably only 30% but they will get me by. But now I may have to buy wheel spacers. Not sure gonna try to mount one tomorrow and check. Also gotta buy lug nuts. Still cheaper than the best 35s I have found.

3rd item steering. This is the one killing me I have some parts to go crossover but not enough to be able to afford the rest of the parts. Current problem is a dropped drag link end is shot. I cannot find a stock application for these ends. They are over 70 bucks from the aftermarket. So gonna get a raised steering arm and new ends for a stock drag link. Of which I already have one. That will make everything in the steering easily replaceable at most auto parts stores

4th issue the t case and rear driveline. I scabbed together a driveline for this truck. It had what appeared to be a nice CV style driveshaft the kind that uses the stock t case slip. Well the cv failed very soon and I took it apart and made it work as a non cv driveline. The entire time I have had the truck the t case leaks at the rear output. I have replaced the seal and bushing several times but it never stops leaking. Well now it has gotten really bad . I happen to have a very nice CV style driveshaft from a different truck. I also have a line on a sye. So I hope to be able to buy the sye and use my nice cv driveshaft on the rear. It should cost me just a bit less than a new cv driveshaft with the stock 241 slip in it.

I have let all these thing go on too long. So now it is time to fix.

Don't tell me I need some beater car. Buying it insuring it and I am sure fixing it would be right up there with the jimmy. I need to fix the jimmy as it is my only car during the week. I don't feel very safe driving the kids around in it so time to get my butt to work

I'd buy the NP241 tailhousing off you if you do a SYE.

For lugnuts, call this guy:

He is cheap.

I bought 32 9/16" conversion lug nuts to run new center caps on our rigs for $0.75 a piece a couple weeks ago.
