1989 Diesel Jimmy. What do we have here hmmmm

Gaskets are here. Head bolts water pump etc.

Ice dam on my house slowed progress. Hoping to get the heads off tomorrow and get to scrubbing.

Man I miss my parts washer right now

What do you guys thing for engine color. I think this one might be boring and just be black

Nope. Although I really wish it was. Truck is gonna stay blue. Orange and blue just don't work for me.

Plus this is not going to be a detailed engine bay and yah diesel. So cleaning the orange would be annoying

Oh yeah forgot what rig this was. A friend of mine did a gun metal engine paint not too long ago...looked very nice. Black is ok too, just plain jane.

Since the question most often asked to me by the well intended passerby is, Your motor alright man? Not, man I'd love to see what's making that rattling clanking noise, plain Jane is OK for now.

I was actually thinking grey though

I mean it is a 6.2. Kind of hard to dress up something already just oozing with sexiness :haha::haha::haha:.

Oh wait that oozing is oil.

I say dump the turbo back out the bootom of the front fender!
:haha::saweet:

I once told my wife when I put a Cummins in my crew cab I was gonna fit it with a stack. One single stack. Coming out of the hood. 6" diameter 12" high.

She gave me the same look she does when I start suggesting we buy a full size van and convert it to 4x4:whistle:

You know wives can be changed, it is expensive but it can be done. I found a G30 454/4l80e/14ff the other day. It would be perfect, just needs a 60F and a divorced transfer case. My wife said no. Fun haters.

I doubt he is. If he is speaking of the darker blue it may be called Alpine blue.

It seems Detroit used grey red a different grey black Alpine green and a dark blue.

I personally think young Marty is making a funny considering he says NOT A DETROIT DIESEL. And he suggests the color most often associated with Detroit Diesel
