I was struggling to figure out where to put my tranny and power steering coolers with the upcoming dove nose, they're the derale "go anywhere" coolers so I didn't want to just replace them. Turns out the pair fit perfect side by side under the core support between the frame rails. Not plumbed or wired yet but soon to come.

I would like to connect my A pillars (that go through the dash) to the shock hoops for just added support. I know lots of you have done it for engine cages, frame support, etc. How did you do it? Trying to figure out a method here before I just start drilling away and miss the A pillar completely or can't get through that second layer of firewall into the cab at all.

There's a joke here, but even @Bent77 would ban me for it.

Bigger hole than tube with some aiming is what I've done. This can also be a great time to use a secondary plate in the firewall. Fancy could be using a laser from the A pillar out across the cowl. Don't shoot it in your eye. I'm using everything in my power to not go to the joke.

Pfft. Nobody reads this thread anyway…

And if you ever answered your phone you’d know I wasn’t a mod anymore

As of a year ago…

Aim straight haha. The actual hard part is welding up in there…
Here’s all the pics I have when I did mine.
You can see where I missed on the passenger side. The inside was kind of hackish to get the holes where I needed but I can’t see it from the drivers seat !

Laser is a great idea, since I just bought one for aligning I should have thoght of it. I have no idea what you mean by secondary plate in the firewall though. Also sad there's a joke we don't get to be privy to.

Awesome, pics are super helpful and it'll in advance make me feel better when I miss the pillar and have a second big hole, thank you!

Dude, that looks really good. Love following your progress.

Went down to help mock up the dovenose today with @rderosier. So far it looks like he'll be able to keep both headlamps and the turn signal. View attachment 472188
Still work to do but made a lot of progress today, excited about the lights clearing, got 9 inches out of each side of the core support.
