1990 K5 - The Dent Side K5

90 K5 Blazer on tons and 37’s
Here’s the ritual trailer pic of it all loaded down. Man, this thing has changed a bunch since the last time it hit Rubicon.

Headed to South Lake tomorrow with some buddies. We are all running Jeepers Jamboree which is an absolute party. So I’ll be driving the K5 from Tahoe to Loon Wednesday morning. Goal is to hit the trail early Wednesday and get to the springs in 6 hours. Last year i rode passenger and we just stayed in Rubicon Springs the entire week for the festivities. Super relaxing, the live music is awesome, and the food they provide is really good. If any of you guys have thought about going I recommend it.

Looks great, actually sent out a text Saturday that I wanted to do the Rubicon. Hopefully sometime next year at the latest.

Rubicon was a blast. The K5 is an entirely different vehicle now. Drove it from South Lake Tahoe to Georgetown at a respectable highway speed, wheeled the entire trail without any issues, then drove it back to South Lake from Tahoma.

I was the only square body in the event and got a lot of weird looks. Probably from my passenger and not the rig.

I cannot explain how stable it is on the highway but how flexy and soft the suspension is on the trail. It’s unreal.

The magnum box is an easy button in the rocks too.

Shit looks good. Your passenger is a hottie, dayum.

Next up on the :poop:box is a soft top, adjusting preload on the passenger side coil, and starting to compile parts for the LS swap.

Thinking about a 6.0 and 4L65E out of an Escalade. My theory is the transmission and stuff is all the same and it should go right in. Never does, but that’s the theory.

Well done! This is how it's supposed to work but it doesn't unless you make it happen.

It's funny how people's perceptions are that a suspension that works so well offroad has to be crap on road when it's the complete opposite. I think crappy off road only suspensions from 20 years ago created a powerful legacy. Although I do have to say, I've driven more modern stuff that absolutely should have been better on the road and was not. There are some details we pay attention to and it's worth it!

Once again, nice work!
