2000 GMT400 CREW CAB SFA SWAP-The Warden: Fuel leak fixed and awaiting surgery…

The ultimate goal for this truck is tow duty/family camping trips/small offroad adventures.
The valving is more important than the actual shock. Call ord and have them get you something set up for your truck. Don’t just buy off the shelf willynilly.
They’re the ones who recommended those lumber wagon shocks in the first place. I bought them with the SAS kit.

Agreed.

ORD will spec a specific valving. I’ve been happy with 347/65 and 360/80 in my 7100s. Go or emium with a custom valving, and you’ll be miles ahead.

What I am saying is, they are the ones who told me to get those shocks and they sucked. How do I know the next set would be better?

Have you tried the phone? Maybe give them a call and tell them what you are expereincing and tak it from there? I’m assuming @Stephen ’s knowledge is deeper than just saying use this shock.
Have a conversation, let him know your problems, and take it from there.

You could take my approach. I bought MX6 (monotube) adjustable shocks and can change the valving whenever I get bored. They're about the same price as the 5100s, they come in several different lengths, and you get to have your cake and eat it, too.

Granted, I put them on the back of the rig and haven't bothered adjusting them yet. But that's because I was happy with the middle-ground setting.

So more driving last night and today has me happy now. Yesterday I asked the wife and kids to go for a ride after I swapped the turd shocks on. About 500ft down the gravel road in front of my house, my oldest said "Dad, did you put marshmallow tires on the truck?" So the family approved of the new ride quality. Today on my lunch I drove a stretch of road that I previously had a co-worker/passenger's butt leave the seat while going to lunch a while back. It was a better quality ride that my black and orange truck, which says a lot.

One thing I did do last night was check my shackle angle to see if that was any sort of issue. I think that looks pretty close to perfect to me.

Your tires look like they are over inflated... :p:

The shackle angle does look good. The springs almost look like they are arched up, but I think it's the shadow messing up the perspective.

Like arched side to side? or arched negatively? yes, they arch negative a bit.

Same shackle angle as my truck.
