2000 GMT400 CREW CAB SFA SWAP-The Warden: Fuel leak fixed and awaiting surgery…

The ultimate goal for this truck is tow duty/family camping trips/small offroad adventures.
Here's the partially installed gooseneck hitch. Due to my frame and brackets, I had to mount the hitch just a hair forward. I will open the hole a bit and try to repair behind it at some point.

And this was sitting under the plastic liner that was in the new bed. Glad it was empty.

You should sell me your old bed so I can resell it to my friend for more money :haha:

Looks excellent all one color finally! Got used to seeing it the other way around

My dad already claimed it for one of the landscaping trucks. But yeah, minus that rust it is a solid bed.
I just remembered my wipers didn't work then sprinted outside to fix them before the rain gets here, much needed rain so I'll take the lack of progress
Yeah, we needed the rain, so I'm not upset. Just a mandatory chill and stare at my truck break.

I hate removing the moldings from the 400 trucks, definitely brings the suck. Get one of those 3M wheels unless you want to rub your hands raw.

Yeah, I planned on a heat gun and some fishing line to see how Close I can get it. And I do have an eraser wheel, so that'll be clean up.

They still rust.. in reply to gregs comment
Mine has no signs of rust yet. The hardware has surface rust, but the actual tubing looks perfect still. And I think it's been on for about a year now.

Now I can't vouch for long term obviously, but that's how it's holding up so far.

The aliminized 4" under my Duramax hasn't started to rust yet in 4 years of rust belt winters. Greg should be fine even longer in Kansas I'd bet.

Awesome.

Yeah, as long as this "brine crap" they have started spraying on the road doesn't eat more than the salt did.

Sweet deal on the box Greg! And I didn't notice you had tow mirrors on it before?

All looking real good! :waytogo:
Yep, the tow mirrors are one of my favorite upgrades. Made the truck so much more usable with towing. Heck, even just daily driving you can see all the way down the side of the truck LOL.

I'll bet good money that it does. Our brine coats the undersides and sticks to everything. I'd be glad to go back to just salt again. Or our unpaved gravel roads that didn't get any form of ice treatment.
