Thanks for measuring. You must be glad to get that front shaft a little longer, though your rig is pretty low so your angels probably weren't that bad10 spline 465/205 was 25" face to face, 465/241/205 is 34.5"

Whats Up Buddy!! it was you talking about this set up that led me here, I just googled the correct terminology and Wha La!! I found this site, it looks like a good one. Thanks, we'll have to get together soon , drop me an e-mail, I left it at the other site for ya, ..Rick (Salt-Man)hey hey, Rick... welcome to the addiction...![]()

Here's most of the cost of this project, the intermediate shaft that couples the 241 to the 205. I got it from D&D machine for $250, its chromoly and its 31 spline (I'm using the 31 spline input from a Ford 205 that I cannabilized for its 32 spline front output).
How did you measure for this?)Length that is)

so that I could do this:
Here I assume that the seal retainer just fits snug into the hole you ground out. When the 205 is bolted in place, do you just lay a bead of RTV to keep the 241 fluid from leaking out?

Without the chain drive, I take it the pump is no longer needed?

And done
Very nice setup. I will need to find me a 205 when I get home.

Additional questions:
Where did you get the aluminum? Any specific grade?
Thanks for any info you can give.

Anyone know how much added length in a 203/205? I'm guessing more.
I found a 205 for TH400. That would be what I need for this correct?
Can you elaborate on your cable shifters?
Is the reason you had to clock the 241 to get it out of the way of the front driveshaft? Would a driverside drop work better in that case?
Yep and yep, Duffy's kit only works with a driver's side drop case.

I want to say 85 and up 1 ton gm's. Not positive thoughIf not what do I need to start looking for at the grave yard? What did the round pattern 31 spline input 205 come in?
Why is that? I figured you'd be able to clock the 241 any way you wanted.
Ok I found a drivers side drop 241 for $50. I also found a 205 but the guy wants $500. YIKES! I am going to buy the 241 anyways. Is there anyway to mate the 10 spline figure 8 205 to the gear box of the 241?

Could you you make the plate larger to accommodate the figure 8 pattern? How I am picturing it in my head it would just hang over the edge of the 241 a little. Maye I am overlooking somethingAs for using the 10 spline 205, the figure 8 pattern probably won't overlap onto the aluminum plate. Also, I don't think Duffy makes 10 spline intermediate shafts.
. This would still leave you without the intermediate shaft...
