I made a BAD mistake yesterday....I felt like I was spending too much money on the K5 lately, so I collected all the receipts into a pile (about 2" thick!)....and was dumb enough not to be scared by the sheer size of the pile, so I actually added up the prices too!!! /forums/images/icons/shocked.gif

I don't even want to talk about it so don't bother asking for the number...................


I'm not going to make THAT mistake again.

A couple of update new rear suspension photos

I reinforced the outside of the frame with 3/8" plate amd removed the body lift puck and moved the mount up to compensate for it.

Should be driveable by Monday. Just have to finish the truss that has all the link and coilover mounts built in. /forums/images/icons/cool.gif

What's the deal with that big truss in the bed area? Looks like there are portholes cut for LOOOOOOONG travel shocks/coilovers? Am I seeing that correctly? /forums/images/icons/crazy.gif

What you see is the tower supports for the 16 inch travel coilovers. The crossmember is dropped down in the middle to clear my spare tire which is removed in the picture. Actually removing the old suspension and plating the frame was the most difficult part of the whole thing. Just hope it works as well as it does in the drawings. Should know soon. I would like to drive it a couple of times before the loooong drive to Moab.

12 Days... Engine block is hot tanked and de-glazed, cam bearings installed. All other parts are clean and ready for installation. Hopefully the new cam and lifters show up today....so we can get this thing back together tonight.

No cam showed up last night....so no engine progress.

About all I can do is paint the block and heads while I wait.

I did get my Borgeson steering shaft from UPS last night, so that got installed and it looks nice. Today (Sat) should be a Dana60 day....I have lots of parts for the rebuild and I need to clean and paint the housing.

Ideally, I could have it all put back together and under the truck by early next week.... still waiting on Locking Hubs and New Spindles!

Time one more cup of coffee....then it's off to the Man Space. /forums/images/icons/cool.gif


ps. Is your flu any better?
