Once Again, If you don't want to see what he is doing, stay out, no one is forcing anyone to read this thread, he has some good Idea's , leave the guy alone and let him build. I would like to see how his burb turns out.

Lookin pretty good so far. Does your arm have the taper machined into it?

For the Kingpin rebuild kits check out Highhonda on Pirate. he had the best deals I found anywhere for all the dana 60 stuff.

I'll check out high honda. No taper machined at the moment, I'm having my dad check and see if his friends machine shop can taper holes, if not It's getting a 1" heim, hopefully someone can drill a 1" hole for me.

I'm usually not one to chime in but that's pretty much showing your age. I know you're gettin a bunch of **** but you can scroll past those posts as easy as read them.

Just IMO ;)

Agreed, but I gotta say something once in awhile :wink1:

Hopefully my shackles get here by this weekend so I can get it rolling, I'll take it out to get some poser flex shots

Well, Howidy did start it this time, and to someone who was commenting on Howidy behalf. If he is going to make enemies with people who give him some support, he is going to have a hard life after high school.

I'm making enemies with people that support me? Please do tell

Just think of it as a community... you piss off one guy and you might take out a few others with him... if at any point down the road you had wiring questions it would have been nice to get ryoken's input...
Not everything is about the here and now... right this very second, or this specific thread... heck even this truck.

I guess I need to keep an eye on this thread. If this crap continues, I'll simply lock and delete it.

That goes for everyone involved in these shenanigans...........:deal:

No I didn't mean the taper in the hole. I meant the taper in the top of the arm to counteract the ackerman angle. If it's just a piece of flat bar the angle of the Heim/TRE will be nearly maxed out while its static.

You can see in my pic the surface the draglink connects to is angled different than the surface on the top of the arm.

Thank you, Paul... Some of us just want to see the tech.

If those front hangers are an indication of your skill and fab 'smarts' you certainly don't have any business ripping on anyone here...especially Ryoken.

You have no support fore and aft, and they will eventually fold. If there is anything custom that should be well overbuilt it would be the brackets locating the steer axle.

Your steering arm looks like a joke btw...as I figured it would. You're cheaping out and making dumb-ass mistakes with stuff that'll kill you...

It's obvious to me you're Dad has been doing all the thinking and design on his stuff, but not passing any helpful info to you(or you're not listening when he does) You're claim you have a roll cage under your belt looks to be self delusion, nobody here is buying it. I think the most you did on that cage was hold the dumb end of the tape measure for your Dad.

Bwahahaha

Excellent

And the brackets are not done

I can't weld anymore to them until I get it rolling

Also could you explain to how the steering arm is going to fail?

Too thin...every stop and wonder why everyone else makes them so beefy?

If you're gonna fling crap at other people's work I recomend not putting up pic's of stuff that 'ain't done'. At this point it seems you're now saying they're not done because I pointed out a major design flaw (as they are now). Up til this point you've never mentioned they weren't done...seems pretty convenient.

Dam you got me good, your right, I actually just changed my mind since you called me out on my major flaw

Too thin? Compare it to stock, even to that steering arm, mine is as thick as it on the thin side.

I guess you also got the memo about 1" thick steel tearing like paper also.

PS: Heres some made with 1/8" thick steel, I can give you his email so you can voice in your opinion on them failing.

And flinging crap at others peoples work? It's not as if I went on the prowl to **** on peoples work. You seem to have forgotten this is indeed the thread about my truck.

But like you said it is actually all my dad's idea's, obviously

The bracketry is much stronger than the frame itself

How are you addressing this then?

Those arms look nothing like what you built. Frankly I'd still take billet over those.

As for 1" bending like paper...nope. However I will concede when you show me where you used 1" thick material. Your laminate is quite inferior to 1" IMO.

What grade of steel did you use? As for the other laminate arms I can only assume looking at the welding and fab quality that they didn't use scraps of mild they found behind Dad's garage.

Ryoken's work specifically, which you started in your very own thread.

When it fails I'll get a billet one

This is from another thread

The steering arms on this must be too thing also

Wow... Is all I can say. Definitely See Howdiy playing the skin flute here shortly. Ryoken has done some awesome stuff , and it is top notch. Way better than anything you can ever produce. You are easily becoming more disliked day by day. Despite any "cool tech".

The laminate arms definitely seem shady, and the arms that you pictured that RandyBuilt from pirate made are way different than yours. Also the arms from the last picture are cast which also makes them different than laminate. You need to retrieve your head from your ass , and realize your shurly turning into the next Timmay...Good luck till you start playing the skin flute..

in post 163 does your steering arm have a crack in it? right above the hole.

Maybe it just looks this way. Granted i'm not an expert machinst or fab guy but that last picture actually they DO look pretty thin to me :dunno:

"WHEN"?? :doah: That's probably the dumbest thing you've said yet. If this ever sees a road i hope you don't kill anyone cause someone else already predicted this
