3/4 Ton Swap is DONE: **d-shaft question**

no, but it does drill into your thick skull what an incosiderate little **** you are being. you are not only risking your own life (which is completely fine, your choice) but the lives of every person you pass on the highway at 80 mph with an inferior piece of hardware locating a 700#+ axle.

by your own words, by the time you get that thing replaced you will have 150+ miles on it. because you "didnt have time" to fix the damned thing right.

Lighten up brother!!
You do have a good point, but let's not go overboard with the abuse :eek1: :D !

dude avery, my u-joint on my d44 broke a while back and i thought its all right. little did i know that it would interfear with the steering!!! the wheel locked up and i almost crashed, thank god for my good brakes now i have been hitchin a ride to school all week and today i finally decided to stay home and fix it. the steering is fine except when the two eyes of the shafts meet and lock up!! it was scarry now im missin everything today just to fix it. i suggest you should of done that too!

Ok so that's two votes for leaving it off...
Is it safe to do that? I mean I know a lot of you don't run one but there are also a lot of "toys" on this site...I run 95% on the highway with this truck at 80mph so keep that in mind...

i took my swaybar off, made a world of difference, it rides so much better. keep it off. ur tires are wide so u are still stable. ive been up to 75mph and never had any problems

:gasp: you may have to ride the bus. its time to quit being lazy, if you have to do it without the compressor, get it done! we're not screwing around with an improperly designed drivetrain anymore, the safety of others is at stake. how would you feel if it gave out on your way to school, the truck went out of control, and hit and killed your best friend? stranger things have happened. now you know what you've got to do, get to doin it. :deal:

Xeleventybilliongoogleplexquadrillion!!
Holy crap!! How many times does anybody have to tell you this. Frickin' just do it!!

Sheesh,
Buddy

its friday maybe he will start doing the front while a friend does it to the rear. then they can tag team the front:D :D

Once again...Did you change the center pin yet?

sorry, there's no compromise here. he's endangering the lives of others with his laziness, there's no room to relax, period.

think of it this way, would you rather see CK5ers hound him about it, to no end until it gets fixed, or would you rather him kill an innocent person?

i'm not sure about you, but i'd really hate to see the latter happen, thus the pressure to do the right thing.

Jesus Christ guys, give him a break! I think he understands that it is a serious danger/risk/bad idea.

With that much lift I think your sway bar geometry will be thrown way off. So to correct it you should get ORD's sway bar disconectors and it leaves the possibility to disconect it for wheeling.

I personally feel more comfortable with a sway bar, though I don't do as much highway travel, but come this fall I will be so my sway bar stays. Actually, I would have put in ORD's sway bar disco's but the giant bolt that holds the sway bar into the spring perch is totally frozen. Won't budge with everything I threw at it: impact gun, breaker bar, PB Blaster, breaker bar with a 5ft pipe. So when I had to replace my front springs I just cut the u-bolts and lifter the sway bar up swapped springs and brought it back down and bolted it all back together with new hardware. But anyway it still handles pretty good, and rides pretty good too.

Wonder why he hasn't replied here yet? He's probably upside down in the truck, dead, from failure to replace a simple pin.

Yet, once more......Did you change the center pin yet?

Maybe because he doesn't have the luxury of being home during the day...I leave at 7:00 for school...head to work after that and I just got home (about 6:00)...all day every day.

So are you gonna fix your centering pin?

:haha: :haha: :haha: :haha:
I've heard it can cause problems.

Really? Hmmm, I'll have to look into that...wish someone would have told me before now...sounds like it could be dangerous.

Dude i totaly vote leave the sway bar off! I had a pickup with 6" lift and drove it with /without the sway bar. the first day i had it off i knew there was no way i would ever put it back on. Also i now have a burb with 4" lift and a caddy 500. I have zero trouble/ driveablity issues with it. 100% streetable. If your woried just unbolt one of the bolts that hold the swaybar to one of the u-bolt plates. That will make it feal like its totaly removed and you can make your decision from there.

I go to work at 6:00 a.m. and get off at 3 p.m. I make more than you do since I own my own home and my folks don't live with me either. Everything I have I paid for with my own hard earned money. I have accepted no handouts or freebies.

Don't feed me your sorry SOB life of a story of school and work "...all day every day." You haven't even begun to experience life yet, little boy. With any luck, some day, sooner or later, you may even sprout your first pubic hair and just then, maybe just then, you can stake your claim to finally reaching puberty.

Now quit checking back on this thread all the time and go get that damn center pin replaced before you get sued in court for vehicular manslaughter.

WTF dude...seriously if you are going to be online then please learn how to interpret the mood of a post...I was just responding to the fact that everyone was wondering where I was lately...so I told you where I was. No need to tell me how you are a bigger man because you go to work all day...whoop de do! Pat yourself on the back!
Oh and congratulations on having a job that lets you off at 3 in the afternoon so you have time to do stuff you like...but don't get on me for not having that luxury.
