4.21 UPDATE Topless Suburban on Rocks - NARROWED Front ROCK

Well, the guy I am getting the C60 from think it is GOLD. I mean I will give him that the tilt front fiberglass clips are getting hard to find. He wants $1500 for the whole truck or $1000 for the front clip. The truck has been sitting for YEARS, but the truck is complete from bumper to bumper.....single cab short wheelbase....kind of like a dump truck w/o a bed. It would make an excellent TOW RIG. Don't tell my wife, but I want the whole thing...then I could change the front clip to the standard sheetmetal regular hood C60 and have a BIG tow rig as well.

I have been throwing all kinds of stuff away that has been sitting in the garage to amke more room so I can actually work on getting the np203 apart and both transfer cases cleaned up......

I need to get rid of 9 16X8 wheels, some Burban barn doors...they are 1/2 barn doors....way cool.....and some other crap that is wasting space....454 block...7 .60 over 454 pistons.....rods....just crap.....

Thanks for the words of encouragement. Believe me guys and gals I want my Freak of Nurture FINISHED!

Stay tuned.....

Thank you, Thanks, more pics soon, thanks again, and thanks!

I am well, just taking meds. It was so weird with the kidney stones...I have been real tired for 3 weeks and then I get this pain that goes from bad to FN Terrible.

I hope to get the front suspensiion setup next week when I get back from Cabo. I want to finish the rear as well so everything is bolt on. Then I can start on strengthening the frame and then POR-15 time!

Here is the Driver's B52 mounted for mock-up purposes only. I dusted it with white paint so I could mark the holes in the frame.

Bracket removed and showing the holes that won't be drilled, but will be plug welded and the other holes that WILL be drilled for the bracket.

Same story, different holes:

Here is the ORD Xmember mocked in place.

I also painted the areas where I had removed rivots and/or bolts for the sway bar brackets and front 2wd Xmember. I did this for reference for those of you that are following along to convert your 2wd to 4wd. It is EASY like I have said before, but it is time consuming and requires a good amount of grinding.....

You sure are ambitious. I'm impressed. :waytogo:  What are you going to use it for when you are all finished? Bogs? Yard ornament? j/k :wink1: Can you still drive that beast on the road in TX if you put some headlights low enough?

I am running as small a suspension lift as possible. WE can drive almost any truck on the road here. Height is not really an issue.

MUD is where it is at.

It WILL be street legal as well.

Thanks for the kind words.

I have been following your build as well.

I think I'd love TX. Big trucks, lots of guns and hunting. I've really got to visit sometime. :D I love that you're stayin' as low as possible, can't wait to see how it turns out.

I really do not like the HUGE suspension lift thing, but I do embrace the bigger is better anthem! I have been in some TALL vehicles ging downt the road and MOST feel very unstable....DAMNIT I want to do DONUTS!!!!!!!

Seriously, this whole Ford lift my truck 15" in the air and then running 38.5/14.5/24's looks retarded to ME. I mean my four year old could stand on the tires and not hit his head on the inner fenderwell. TOTALLY USELESS VEHICLES.

Thanks for the words of encouragement! I try to keep up and post up.....

Quick request:

IGOR, can you resize those pics of that Green Burb.....WAAAAYYYYY too wide.....thanks man.....

3" or 4"...I think 3", yeah 3"......

I am think about getting 4" spring perches from chuckstrucks, but I think they kinda look retarded. What do ya'll think?

So, let's have a math lesson here:

Front B52 bracket: 3"
Sheetmetal work: 4"
Chuckstrucks SP: 4"
4" lift 52" Rear Springs: 8"

That would be a Grand Total of 19" of some LIFT.

Now for the Rear:

ORD Shackle Flip: 6"
(with longer Front hanger)
ChucksTrcuks 4"SP: 4"
Sheetmetal work: 4"
6" lift Springs" 6"

And that would be 20" of Lift.

With that combo or something resembling that the ride should be that of a
Cadillac, but I am really rethinking those Spring Perches......maybe just some
2" ones and more Sheet metal work.....

Again, any opinions?

Wow it has been two months since I have worked on her, welllllll not really.

A few weeks ago I did a 5lb spool worth of welding to secure the BLAZER part more to the suburban and also did some rust removal in areas that I did not know there were metal!!!!!!!

Wife's pregnant, got a super promotion (with SUPER hours) so I have been trying to spend as much time with the Famn Damily!

I have ordered a new INTAKE for the BBC and some Front spring hangers for the rear.

I sold my front stock 52's and I am waiting for my Rockwells to be delivered.

My 32 spline conversion stuff should be here hopefully in the next month or so for my 205.

I am tring to sell some OLD Blazer interior that I do not need.

I have been following threads more than anything lately and I am going to copy some floor modifications that one of the members did for his clocking of his Xcase, but I am doing it on my 2wd to 4wd Tranny case hump conversion.

I tell you what I am getting real tired on typing conversion when I talk about her.

I really want to get this thing done.

If you have kept up with progress or know me, this was my grandfather's back in 1985.

He and Granny are two of the most resilient people I have ever seen. With that said he is no Spring chicken and I want to get this done soon, so they can ride in it.

It broke my heart when my grandmother, on the other side, died right before I got my College degree.

She always stressed the importance of a good education and I F'd off for 10 years before I got mine.

KIDS, learn from me that you will NEVER get the time back that you COULD of had with those that you love!

More updates soon!
