44" tall X 12" Wide XMLs. My build thread.

I would love to trade the hubs and run the HMMWV rims. However there are a few concerns.

1. The HMMWV rims are going to be for my 39.5? iroks.....what would I run for the street. New rims would cost even more $

2. I have not found an easy way to deal with the 14FF and getting unmodified HMMWV rims to fit and look right.

#2 being the biggest concern

Expound on #2.

I read somewhere that I would need around 4" spacers.
Not sure if it had to do with the disk brakes or not, but would that matter?

What is the MWS-WMS of the following
DRW D-60
SRW 14FF

Looks like you need DRW 70 with SRW hubs. OR I could frabbicate some good space-hers.

Approx from memory.

C&C = 63"
SRW = 67"
DRW= 73"

I suspect the 60 DRW front is really wide have to measure it.

That was confusing:haha:

But I did get a WMS of 67" for a SRW and DRW 14FF from Bila Vista's 14 Bolt bible....

Is that correct?

Well I found that I would need 5" spacers to bring the WMS for the front (DRW) and the rear 14FF SRW to the same amount.

That would cost so much I could never get it pasy my finiancial advisor ((WIFE))

Dude...I run a machine shop :rolleyes: No worries. I'll hook you up with what you need in order to trade so we both get what we need.

Also I have heard bad things about running spacers that large.
I still drive the truck on the street so it needs to be safe and "somewhat" reliable.

"Somewhat" means that I don't mind having to fix a truck on the side of the road. In fact I enjoy it.....but I think that having a wheel fall/break off would put a quick damper in my mood.

If I build you some spacers, they aren't going anywhere. The only problem I could imagine is wheel bearing stress, but that shouldn't be an issue with a 1 ton axle, plus the backspacing on the wheel puts the tire back where it goes, which I'm sure relieves wheel bearing stress.

Well if you can build a few 4-5" spacers that will hold up to the beatings than the only thing I need to figure out is the situation with street rims.

Let me look around to see if I could score a set for cheap.

I have rims laying around too. :haha:Some factory Dodge ones, narrow and they have a minimal backspace. Some tall narrow (michelins?) might work on them for street.

Looks like a guy might be able to use a DRW front hub to make a spacer for the rear.

Now thats an interessting idea, cause arn't the bearings all teh same 14 bolt and d60? you would need drive flanges and custom axle shafts though. Hmmmm. damn now something else to daydream about

I was thinking of just using them for spacers after machining them somehow.

What's up Leland? Long time no see. Building a chevy for myself now finally. Andy's gone up to work for ORD.

:doah:

My QJET is beat...I have never seen such a dirty, crusty, worn, warped carb. Of course, I haven't rebuilt that many, but it's still bad.

Who has the best rebuilds?

What if I were to put little o-rings in the throttle shaft bores as a bandaid to help with vacuum leak? The bores already have little grooves inside...

Or I could bush it, I do work in a machine shop....just a pain.

how about warpage? Anyone done that unwarping tool thing? What's the heating procedure?
